Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main overall pattern: women’s licence-holding rose substantially, while men’s rates were generally higher, and you note the marked increase among men aged 70 and over. These are relevant features and the overview gives the reader a useful summary. However, some comparisons are inaccurate or too broad. Men aged 50–69 do not both reach about 90% in 2006: the 50–59 group is about 92%, while 60–69 is about 91%; the 40–49 group is also high at about 89%. The claim that men aged 17–49 fluctuated is unclear because the chart compares two years, and the statement that women aged 30–39 rose by almost 15% understates the increase from about 49% to 78%. More precise, balanced comparisons would strengthen the report.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for men and women. This makes the main categories easy to follow, and phrases such as “Overall” and “In the men group” signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. For example, “the percentage for 17-49 have been fluctuating all over the years” is difficult to connect to the two dates shown, and the shift from that point to the 50–69 groups is abrupt. Some linking and reference are also awkward, as in “This age group hold the least percentage,” where the reference is understandable but the phrasing is imprecise. Grouping age bands consistently and comparing the two years within each group would make the cohesion more effective.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “percentage,” “holding full car driving licences,” “age group,” and “increased considerably,” so the topic is generally clear. There is also some attempt to vary wording through “rapid increase” and “least percentage.” However, several choices are imprecise or unnatural for describing chart data: “fluctuating all over the years” does not fit a comparison of two dates, and “women sex” is an awkward collocation. Spelling slips such as “tge” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise reporting verbs and standard collocations, such as “the proportion rose” and “the lowest figure.” This would make the vocabulary more controlled and suitable for an academic summary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including the overview contrast beginning “The number of women…” and the sentence describing the increase among older men. Meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors remain. Subject–verb agreement is inconsistent in “the charts illustrates” and “the number … have increased”; use “charts illustrate” and “number … has increased.” The phrase “the percentage for 17-49 have been” also has agreement and tense problems. There are errors in verb forms and apostrophe use in “hold's licences” and “women holded licences,” and missing spaces after full stops make punctuation less controlled. Check agreement, past-tense forms, and sentence boundaries during revision.
