Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, many students prefer to study English independently on a self-study basis without attending any formal courses. However, without the assistance of a teacher, students often face a lot of difficulties to mange their study. Although self study is more flexible and convenient, to solve any problem and to study in a systemetic way students should stay touch with experienced teacher.
On the one hand , self study is more relaxing than attending any formal courses. student can learn through watching educational videos, free feedback by AI, participating free mock test from any where any time. In addition, they can manage their schedule by their prefference rather than thinking about go outside to attend classes. For example, I am preparing for my upcoming exam through different websides and they give me feedback after participating any test, so for me these AI tools are more trustable than human. Therefore, self study is more comon to study English independently.
On the other hand, a teacher can play a crusial rule for every student . If anyone take assistance of a teacher, they can easily stay focused on their goal. Additionlly, an experienced teacher can read students mind, they can force students who are not responsible and who always try to ignore exams. For instance, my sister do not like study and think about future but his tutor always try her level best to establish my sister. As a result , she passed all the exam successfully. Perhaps, self study is helpful for some students, who are organised and can manage their difficulties by focusing on study.
In conclusion, some students are eligible to study English independently and can stay focused about their career but we should take advice and suggestion from experienced teacher . so that we can properly manage our study .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your response addresses both sides of the issue and gives a clear overall position: self-study can suit some learners, but teacher support helps students manage their studies. The examples about using AI tools and your sister’s tutor make the discussion relevant. However, the two sides are not developed equally. The benefits of self-study are explained through flexibility and convenience, while the claim that a teacher can “read students mind” and motivate them needs clearer explanation. The conclusion repeats your position but could answer the extent of your agreement more directly. The response contains 18 words copied from the task prompt; these are not counted in the reported length. To strengthen the response, explain how teacher guidance helps learners overcome specific study difficulties, such as planning or correcting persistent errors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two perspectives, and a conclusion. “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal this structure, and the examples generally appear in the relevant paragraphs. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Therefore, self study is more comon to study English independently” does not clearly follow from the preceding points, and “Perhaps” introduces a qualification without showing how it relates to the teacher-focused argument. Some references are also difficult to follow, particularly the shift between “my sister,” “his tutor,” and “my sister” in the example. Use clearer links between claims and examples, and make each paragraph’s progression more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “self-study,” “formal courses,” “flexible,” “experienced teacher,” and “stay focused.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “mock test” and “manage their schedule.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “mange,” “systemetic,” “prefference,” “websides,” and “crusial” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural, including “free feedback by AI,” “read students mind,” and “establish my sister.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, such as describing a teacher as identifying a learner’s needs or helping them build good study habits. This would make your vocabulary more precise and fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including the concessive opening “Although self study is more flexible and convenient” and the conditional “If anyone take assistance of a teacher.” These attempts help you express contrast and cause, but some grammatical errors remain. Subject–verb agreement is inconsistent in “student can learn,” “If anyone take,” and “my sister do not like.” There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence construction, as in “stay touch with experienced teacher” and “participating free mock test.” Punctuation and capitalisation are uneven, particularly around spaces before commas and the lowercase “so” after the conclusion’s full stop. Review agreement and article use, and proofread sentence boundaries while continuing to practise complex structures.
