Student answer (Band 4.5)

in my opinion its often difficult for a student to study independetly on a self study basis rather than attend a formal course. It is because the student will know the method of study and also do not know about more than what the teacher can teach. The teacher have alot of knowledge and have more experience about the topics and the student will face diificult to manage their studies if they not attent a formal course or a teacher guidence

so i am tottaly agree that the student will learn more and dont have a great knowledge. If student attend a teacher classes and and have a full attention so he will learn more from the teacher and the teacher dilever a lecture in a very easy way to a student.

For example i take English classes from a teacher so he have alot of knowlege and and he teach me in very easy way so its a good way to learn from a formal course and a teacher

On the other side i am jsut a little bit disagree that taking a formal courses or a teacher assistance because there alot of other ways to study.

For example to learn youtube or other online website.

So overally in my opinion a student should learn from the teacher and a join a forml courses so its will be very helpful for hi, and he will get more knowledge from him. Student can easily understand a course from a teacher and his time will not be waste

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You give a clear overall view that you agree students benefit from a teacher, and you include relevant reasons: teachers provide knowledge and explain topics, while your English classes offer a personal example. However, the response only partly develops the question. The opposing point about YouTube and other websites is mentioned briefly but not explained, and the claim that independent learners “do not know about more than what the teacher can teach” is unclear. The response contains 244 words, so it is 6 words below the required minimum; 11 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop both sides with specific explanations and examples, and make your degree of agreement consistent throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic overall structure: it presents your view, gives an example, introduces an opposing point, and ends with a conclusion. Phrases such as “For example” and “On the other side” help signal these moves. However, progression between ideas is limited, and several points are repeated, particularly that teachers have knowledge and help students learn more. Some links are awkward or unclear, such as “so i am totally agree” and “On the other side i am just a little bit disagree,” which makes the relationship between your position and counterpoint difficult to follow. Use separate, clearly focused paragraphs and explain how each example supports the point it follows. More precise linking and referencing would make the argument easier to track.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the main topic, including “formal course,” “teacher,” “knowledge,” and “online website.” The personal example about taking English classes is relevant and understandable. However, vocabulary is repetitive and often imprecise, which limits how clearly you can express the argument. Phrases such as “a great knowledge,” “learn YouTube,” and “his time will not be waste” are not natural or accurate in this context. There are also frequent spelling errors, including “independetly,” “diificult,” “dilever,” and “forml,” which can distract the reader. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for discussing independent learning, teaching methods, and study management, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Most sentences use simple structures, and the reader can generally identify your main opinion and examples. You also attempt to connect clauses with “because” and “if,” showing some effort to form longer sentences. However, the range is limited, and errors are frequent enough to make several sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “the teacher have,” “the student will face difficult,” and “if they not attent a formal course,” where agreement, verb forms, or sentence construction are faulty. Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “if student attend a teacher classes.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then build longer sentences with one clear main clause and correctly formed supporting clauses. Check agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation during revision.
