Student answer (Band 6.5)
A larger group of pupils prefer to learn English by themselves instead of joining a social setting classroom. Although self study facilitates lots but it can cause hurdles for a learner while managing their academic tasks which comprises of proper feedback, availability of data. Therefore, i firmly believe that a mentor's presence is a key factor for better understanding of complex concepts.
To begin with, most of public emphasis on self learning which allows them to think more broadly and search out different things from search engines than in a planned environment which is often available at educational institutions. For instance, Dr Abdul Ghafoor passed Competitive exam in 2023 by self attainment for which he had been working since 2020, which demonstrates a clear successful story about how students can achieve their ambitions by own learning. Moreover, absence of a professor offers a flexibility in schedule which contributes to do your task during your spare time.
Secondly, the aid by a tutor is conducive, which helps out to do an assignment with instant feedback which is pivotal and mostly inconvenient in self learning, This is because, a guidance about a particular concern can nourish your understanding and you can consult anytime in case of any confusion. Along with that, a proper research has done regarding the significance of a class room, which elevates confidence which is not possible at home study. That is the reason, i also consider that to join a formal subject is imperative which provides several positive outcomes.
To sum up, a large quantity of knowledge seekers focus over the learning of English language by own effort instead of getting proper counselling from English experts which offers a variety of benefits to a person, on the other side deprivation of these factors will result in uneven understanding of the course. Due to this reason, I think to join an institution is very significant.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You acknowledge the benefits of self-study while arguing for the necessity of a mentor. Ideas are relevant, such as the mention of flexibility versus the need for instant feedback. However, some points could be more fully developed; for instance, the example of Dr. Abdul Ghafoor is a bit brief and could be better linked to the specific context of learning English. Overall, the argument is consistent and the conclusion reinforces your stance effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'Secondly' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'That is the reason, i also consider that'. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, and some sentences lack smooth flow, which affects the overall progression of ideas. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'facilitates', 'conducive', 'pivotal', and 'imperative'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations, such as 'self attainment', 'a large quantity of knowledge seekers', and 'proper research has done'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more natural phrasing and better control over academic vocabulary to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('a formal subject', 'the absence of a professor'), subject-verb agreement ('most of public emphasis'), and preposition usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and comma splices. While you show an ability to construct complex sentences, the frequency of errors prevents the writing from being considered error-free in the majority of instances.
