Student answer (Band 6.0)
I disagree to study English independently.
I have some reasons. First, it is difficult to maintain our motivation of studying English without advice from other who has good knowledge about studying English. when they praise us with a obvious reasons, it is going to be a greatest confidence and motivation. But how about the case that you study English your self. There are no advise, no comment that praises or cheers you up. why do you keep studying without them.
Second ,we don't know the most effective way to learning English. you know, now a days there are many information about that. But many influencer said their opinion about studying English. so, they are confusing English learner. In that case we need the adviser who knows the most effective and efficient way to study English. And of cause they are knowing the good text or applications to study English. So, you no longer to waste money for not good text applications etc.
Third, you can't practice speaking without the assistance of teachers. you can practice speaking some online services. But, in many case it is using AI. I think we can't train our speaking skills by talking with AI. Then, you about take a face to face speaking lessons at online?it is not bad but the teacher in your monitor is talking with their manual. so, you can't practice the real conversation. And in many case the online video lesson need a lot of money. So you will waste your money again!!
Therefore ,I disagree to study English independently.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against independent study. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide three reasons—motivation, guidance on effective methods, and speaking practice—the arguments are underdeveloped and rely on personal opinion rather than broader analysis. The tone is quite informal, which is less appropriate for an academic task. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations or hypothetical scenarios that demonstrate a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in self-study versus formal education. Ensure that your position is maintained consistently throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite mechanical and sometimes inaccurate. For example, phrases like 'And of cause' and 'Then, you about take a face to face' disrupt the flow of ideas. The transition between sentences is often abrupt, and the logical progression within paragraphs could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensure that your referencing (using pronouns to refer back to previous ideas) is clear and accurate.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is quite repetitive and lacks the precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'bad', and 'study'. There are also several instances of awkward phrasing and word-choice errors, such as 'no longer to waste money' and 'they are knowing the good text'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and synonyms. Avoid informal language and focus on using words that accurately convey your intended meaning in a formal context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('many influencer said'), incorrect sentence structure ('I disagree to study English independently'), and punctuation errors. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty, which can occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly the use of articles, verb tenses, and prepositions. Proofreading your work for common errors like 'there are no advise' (should be 'advice') and 'in many case' (should be 'in many cases') will significantly improve your accuracy.
