Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it is only 107 words long. Consequently, the development of ideas is severely limited. While the introduction attempts to state a position, the essay ends abruptly after the first paragraph, meaning the main body of the argument is not developed. The task is only partially addressed because the response is incomplete, preventing a full exploration of the prompt. To improve, you must ensure you provide a clear introduction, at least two well-developed body paragraphs with supporting examples, and a conclusion, while meeting the minimum length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is too short to demonstrate a clear logical progression or effective paragraphing. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To commence with' and 'In the upcoming paragraph', the text stops before these can be used effectively to link ideas. The structure is currently fragmented, and the lack of a complete essay makes it impossible to assess the flow of arguments. To improve, focus on developing each point into a full paragraph with clear topic sentences and logical transitions between ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and contains several errors in word choice and collocation. For example, 'study English language by a self' is unnatural, and 'abounding of reasons' is incorrect usage. Phrases like 'hectic task for a pupils' show issues with singular/plural agreement and collocation. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey a basic meaning, it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You should focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that your word forms (e.g., 'a pupil' vs 'pupils') are used correctly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The text contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with article usage ('the English language'), subject-verb agreement ('Some were consider'), and sentence structure ('This topic itself finding controversy'). The range of structures is limited, and the errors are persistent throughout the short text. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that articles are used appropriately. Proofreading for simple errors like 'a students' (should be 'students') will also help improve your accuracy.
