Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required 250-word minimum, which severely limits your ability to develop your ideas. While you state a position, the argument is cut off abruptly after only a few sentences. You have not provided sufficient reasons or examples to support your view, and the essay fails to address the prompt in a meaningful way. To improve, you must expand your arguments with detailed explanations and relevant examples, ensuring you meet the word count requirement to allow for a full exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The text is too short to demonstrate a clear logical progression or effective paragraphing. While you attempt to use cohesive devices like 'Firstly' and 'For instance', the essay ends mid-sentence, which prevents the development of a coherent structure. The lack of a conclusion or a fully developed body paragraph makes it difficult to assess your ability to organize ideas. Focus on planning your essay structure before writing to ensure you have an introduction, clear body paragraphs with supporting evidence, and a concluding summary.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, such as 'learn' and 'study'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'people use to learn', which is grammatically incorrect and imprecise. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate a higher level of proficiency. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and synonyms related to education and technology. Expanding your vocabulary will help you express your ideas with greater precision and sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The response contains several grammatical errors, such as 'it has been easier to learn a course by self studying' and 'individuals have different pace to absorb'. Punctuation is also problematic, with unnecessary commas and missing full stops. The sentence structures are simple and lack the complexity required for higher bands. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct subject-verb agreement and the appropriate use of articles and prepositions, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
