Student answer (Band 6.0)

Learning and developing an English skills are very important for everyone who want to do work globaly. A large number of scholars prefer to learn English by self-study basis instead of taking guidance from a teacher. I completely agree with this statement because without any professional guidance we can not learn anything.

Firstly, when a student starts to learn english by himself he can not concentrate continously on his studies because he has no worries about any inquires regarding to studies. In this way, he can learn basic things by his devotion firstly but he can not concentrate on it for long-term. For instance, when I was learning English firstly I could spend a lot of time by studying on my own behalf but I could not achieve anything without waste of time later I joined the coaching of a teacher in my city and then I had learnt a lot of things in first week.

On the other hand, without proper road map students should not learn anything. In most of cases, students learn English without knowing where to start and how to overcome everything about English. Without proper way we are not able achieve anything. For example, in many English taught courses we can learn English by proper starting and ending point. In this way, we should learn English fast rather than starting from anywhere.

To conclude, students should argued to learn English by assistance of teacher in order to take up it. Personally, I believe that without help of professional we can not learn ant thing. Students should spend their time in write way and learn English by joining a coach.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have clearly stated your position in the introduction and maintained it throughout the essay. The response addresses the prompt by discussing the difficulties of self-study and the benefits of professional guidance. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument that students need a 'road map' is mentioned in the second body paragraph but lacks specific, varied examples to fully flesh out the point. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported argument rather than restating the same general idea about the need for a teacher.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and you use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude' to signal the structure. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear. For example, in the second paragraph, the transition between the personal anecdote and the general argument about 'road maps' is abrupt. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will help improve the overall flow and coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is somewhat limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'learn', 'English', and 'things'. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'do work globaly' (should be 'work globally') and 'waste of time' (which is used slightly awkwardly). To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to education and language acquisition, and pay closer attention to collocations to ensure your word choices sound more natural and professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with articles ('a teacher', 'the assistance'), subject-verb agreement ('students should argued'), and sentence structure. For example, 'Learning and developing an English skills' contains an unnecessary article, and 'without waste of time' is grammatically incomplete. While you attempt some complex sentences, they often contain errors that can cause minor confusion. Focusing on basic accuracy—specifically verb forms, pluralization, and article usage—will significantly improve the clarity and quality of your writing.
