Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a position, but the development of ideas is limited and often unclear. While you mention that some students have a 'strong grasp' and others are 'slow runners,' the arguments lack depth and specific examples. The reasoning is repetitive, and the connection between the points and the prompt is sometimes tenuous. To improve, you should focus on providing clear, logical arguments that directly support your stance, rather than listing general observations. Ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that your ideas are fully explained with relevant examples to meet the requirements of a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which is a positive start. However, the logical flow is frequently interrupted by unclear phrasing and repetitive transitions. You use some cohesive devices like 'furthermore' and 'nevertheless,' but they are often used incorrectly or in a way that does not enhance the flow of ideas. The referencing is sometimes confusing, making it difficult for the reader to follow your argument. To improve, focus on using transition words that accurately reflect the relationship between your ideas and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, with frequent errors in word choice and collocation that occasionally impede communication. Phrases like 'huge grasping power' and 'school standards is standard grip' are unnatural and unclear. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to express more complex ideas precisely. To reach a higher band, you should work on expanding your range of vocabulary, particularly by learning common collocations and academic phrases. Focus on using words in their correct context rather than attempting to use complex words that may not fit the intended meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the essay, including issues with subject-verb agreement, tense consistency, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'THEY DONT NO GRAMMER AND VOCABULARY THEY WILL TAKE HELP.' Punctuation is also inconsistent, which makes the text difficult to read. The range of structures is very limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct subject-verb agreement and the proper use of articles and prepositions. Practicing the basics will help you build a stronger foundation for more complex grammatical structures.
