Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often agrued that large number of students choose to study English independently on a self study basis rather than attend a formal course.while some people may disagree with this view , i strongly agree with it because students solve their difiiculties by the help of AI and it also saves time.
The primary reason for my position is that nowadays, many students use the AI tools such as chatgpt ,This is largely because it explains very well and if any doubt then it clears with various examples and sometimes it connects with real life. For example , if people do not understand anything so they have many options to explain but i think tutor have no many options. This demonstrates that self study is better that formal course.
Another important reason is that it also saves times .In particular it helps 24*7 hours so we solve doubt anytime. This means that it also create less distractions during studying .For instance, travelling time diminish if we do self study and in formal course we also distract by another individuals so ot create lots of distrcations. Therefore it is reasonable argue that choose to study english independtly on a self study baasis raather than attend any formal course.
In conclusion, I firlmly believe that choose to self study instead of formal course because it helps in many ways and anytime you want but teacher available in fixing hours in formal course and it also saves people time. Although formal course may be valid to some extent , it does not outweigh the benefits of self study basis.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of self-study. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention AI tools and time-saving as key arguments, the explanation remains repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the claim that 'tutors have no many options' is an unsupported generalization that weakens your argument. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced examples and ensure that your supporting points directly address the counter-argument regarding the difficulty of managing studies without a teacher. The conclusion is present but essentially restates the introduction without adding new insight.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'Another important reason is that' and 'In conclusion' are used, but the internal flow between sentences is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between AI and 'real life' is vague. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'agrued', 'difiiculties', 'distrcations', 'firlmly') and some awkward collocations, such as 'tutor have no many options'. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to use less common lexical items effectively. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to education and technology, and pay closer attention to spelling, as these errors occasionally distract the reader from your intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'tutor have no many options'), article usage, and sentence fragments or run-on sentences. For example, 'if any doubt then it clears with various examples' is grammatically incorrect. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement and capitalization. While the meaning is generally understandable, the persistent grammatical errors limit the clarity and professional tone of the response. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be beneficial.
