Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is no country in the world which is untouched by the phenomenon of learning English language. Recent studies indicate that this trend is only likely to accentuate in the near future considering the ground realities of the modern world. This essay shall analyse whether self study or formal course to be opted for learning English. However, I prefer the latter perspective.
English is a language which connects all the nation across the world. Everyone accept English as a global language. Learning this language will always be advantage as it will help us to enhance our academic and career opportunities. When we consider the medium of instruction for grasping the language the choices varies from person to person. Firstly self-study enable us to understand the concept deeply and strengthen the basic fundamentals. Learning language has varies branches to master and become fluent. For instance should be able to speak, write, read and listen. Although this is not our mother tongue we need to be consistent through out this learning process.
Practice makes everything perfect but if this is done through a master or tutor will come out with flying colours with confidences. When taking a formal course we will be having a schedule to follow where lessons and frequent test would be conducted to analyse the progress. A certified tutor to right path since they have pursued qualification to teach others. However when we study by our self we will be confused and lack of analysis on our progress might lead to procrastination.
Considering both sides of argument, it is ever so sensible to register my disagreement with the statement that self-study provide the best result. In spite of the intricate tapestry of arguments delicately woven against the same. Suffice to say that learn english under the assistance of a teacher.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the benefits of formal instruction, such as structure and professional guidance, the points are not fully extended with specific examples or deeper analysis. The conclusion is abrupt and lacks a clear summary of the main arguments. To improve, ensure each body paragraph contains a well-developed point supported by a concrete example or a logical explanation of the consequences, rather than just stating the benefits.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Firstly' and 'However', but the transitions between sentences are sometimes mechanical or abrupt. For instance, the final paragraph is fragmented, with sentence fragments like 'Suffice to say that learn english under the assistance of a teacher' which lack a main verb and disrupt the flow. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence is grammatically complete will help the reader follow your argument more smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'accentuate', 'phenomenon', and 'intricate tapestry'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'Everyone accept English' (should be 'accepts'), 'choices varies' (should be 'vary'), and 'come out with flying colours with confidences'. These errors occasionally hinder the precision of your expression. To reach a higher band, focus on using collocations accurately and ensuring subject-verb agreement when using more sophisticated vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('choices varies', 'self-study enable'), missing articles ('learn english'), and incomplete sentence structures in the conclusion. Some sentences are also awkward, such as 'A certified tutor to right path'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly verb forms and sentence completeness.
