Student answer (Band 5.0)
I qould love to discuss abou this qs many students choose to study english independently without assistance of a teacher because the thought we have our eduaction in english already enough for us to study english independently but in reality it ttally differs as education in english does not mean you can study by yourself. At every instance to learn or to study we need assistance because wothout it we could lead to wrong page.
As an example right now i am preparing myself for IELTS exam and i am also studying independently because i believe that i can do it by personally but it makes me wrong while practicing i found out that i need assistance even that i studied for 16 year in english but still i need an assistance to learn grammer and new vocabulary to make my english better and to prepare myself competible for ielts.
In my opinion, I totally disagree tht without an instruction or guidence i am unable to do it. Studying in english is another thing and studying english another and its not a cup of tea for everyone but for some individuals who are used to in studying and understanding new things independently, they can do it by focusing and practicing on daily basis but for people like me who needs assistance at every point can not do.
In conclusion i would like to describe that whether if you are a genius you always need an assistance may be yu can get a ln advice that can change your perception.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position, although the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. You argue that teacher assistance is necessary, using your personal experience with IELTS preparation as an example. However, the argument remains quite narrow and focuses heavily on your own struggle rather than exploring the broader implications of independent versus formal study. To improve, you should expand on why formal instruction is beneficial (e.g., structured feedback, accountability, or curriculum design) rather than just stating that you personally find it difficult. The conclusion is a bit vague and does not fully synthesize the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between and within them is often disjointed. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'As an example' and 'In conclusion', but the transitions between sentences are frequently abrupt. For instance, the jump from discussing your IELTS preparation to the general opinion in the third paragraph lacks a smooth logical bridge. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'it makes me wrong', which does not clearly link back to the previous idea. Improving your use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the logical progression.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'study', 'assistance', and 'english'. There are several instances of awkward word choices and non-standard collocations, such as 'lead to wrong page', 'prepare myself competible', and 'used to in studying'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of academic vocabulary and focus on correct collocations. For example, instead of 'lead to wrong page', you might use 'mislead' or 'stray from the correct path'. You also need to address consistent spelling errors like 'grammer' and 'guidence'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often affect readability. There are issues with sentence structure, such as run-on sentences and fragments (e.g., 'Studying in english is another thing and studying english another'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are also inconsistent, such as 'needs assistance' instead of 'need assistance' when referring to 'people like me'. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate, which leads to confusion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles or incorrect prepositions before moving on to more complex grammatical forms.
