Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is a substantial number of English learners prefer to self studying instead of attending a traditional course. Although teachers help the students in their course material and clear their doubts but I believe that new innovations and systems are very reliable now because these can provide a course guideline and help to manage studies.
Currently, social media and internet are everywhere even a person who lives in a remote area can access the internet conveniently. It helps the learners to watch different video tutorials and blogs about the English learning which helps them to learn new terms . Moreover, learners can explore different websites to download e-books. Artificial intelligence tools ,which are recently developed, are very popular among students because of their convenient approach and affordability. These apps can provide you a customize study plan according to your study level. Additionally, these apps can highlight your mistakes if you provide them with study content. These apps also very compatible for practicing English speaking lessons because they give students real time feedback.
For instance, my friend used a few AI apps to enhance his English speaking skill. He used an AI app (Chat gpt) to obtain and study a 30 days course to achieve his desired band score in his IELTS exam.
However, teachers assist a student to plan his studies and also they encourage students to learn a wide range of vocabulary and sentence structures which are necessary to learn English but these benefits are unable to outweigh the benefits of new innovations and their reliability. Therefore, students can learn English independently without the need of a teacher or coach.
In conclusion, modern automation systems and apps can address the problems of students which were previously solved by teachers so students can learn English without teachers assistance.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have successfully argued that modern technology outweighs the need for traditional teacher assistance. The ideas are relevant and supported by examples, such as the mention of AI tools and ChatGPT. However, the development of these ideas could be more nuanced. While you acknowledge the role of teachers, the counter-argument is somewhat brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that the explanation of why technology is superior is more deeply explored, perhaps by contrasting specific pedagogical limitations of self-study with the unique advantages of AI-driven personalization.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'Moreover,' 'Additionally,' and 'However' to signal transitions between ideas. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For instance, the transition between the discussion of social media and AI tools could be more integrated. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, and the central argument is easy to follow throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'innovations,' 'conveniently,' 'affordability,' and 'customized.' There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'self studying' (should be 'self-study') and 'these apps also very compatible' (missing 'are'). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, some phrasing is slightly repetitive or imprecise. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring that word forms are used correctly in context. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly without significant difficulty for the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'There is a substantial number of English learners prefer' (should be 'who prefer'), 'teachers help the students in their course material' (should be 'with'), and 'these benefits are unable to outweigh' (should be 'cannot'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, though there are some spacing issues around commas and periods. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing your control over complex sentence structures and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will help improve your accuracy.
