Student answer (Band 6.0)
In fast growing world, nowadays due to advancement in technology many preferred to study independently at home . Some argue that without assistance of teacher it might be difficult to get command on English language. I partly agree with that statement.
On one hand, there are several reason why student struggle to learn without teacher. One major reason is lack of guidance and feedback. Student didn't have an proper knowledge about grammar, vocabulary ,speaking and writing. For example, an new student preparing for ielts exam alone, may repeatedly make grammar mistake without realising them, where teacher can identify these mistake and explain them how to correct them. Another reason is difficult in motivation and time management. Due to absence of teacher, proper time management is not possible. For instance, student may fail to mange time properly due to infixed timetable for study, moreover, motivation related study can be seen relateablely lesser due to majority of time can be waste in watching videos, playing games and sleeping.
On the another hand, there are multiple benefits to self-study. Firstly, pt provides greater flexibility. Student can choose where, when, what to study according to their preferences. for example, if a student find difficult in tenses it can give extra time for weaker part and learn faster. Furthermore, student can also learn while travelling in train or any mode of transportation. Secondly, it access to wider resources. Modern technology provides video streaming platform to learn, websites , podcasts. For instance, a student can learn many different synonyms from an mobile application of a related word.
In Conclusion, Without assistance of teacher student may lack in guidance and feedback. Although it provides benefit such as flexibility. With combination of self study and guidance under teacher can able to learn faster and more effective.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position that is maintained throughout. The ideas regarding the benefits of self-study versus the necessity of teacher guidance are relevant and supported with examples, such as the mention of IELTS preparation and the flexibility of mobile apps. However, some points are slightly under-developed; for instance, the explanation of why motivation decreases during self-study is a bit vague. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explained with more precise reasoning rather than relying on general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'On one hand', 'Firstly', and 'Furthermore' are used to guide the reader through the argument. However, there is some mechanical use of these devices, and the flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing. Referencing is generally clear, but the transition between the final body paragraph and the conclusion could be smoother to improve the overall progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'flexibility', 'guidance', and 'advancement'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'get command on English language' (gain command of) and 'infixed timetable' (inflexible). The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but the lack of precision and occasional misuse of words prevents a higher score. Expanding the range of synonyms and focusing on natural collocations would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('an new student', 'an mobile application'), subject-verb agreement ('student didn't have', 'student may fail to mange'), and sentence fragments. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some missing spaces after commas. These errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text, though they do not typically impede communication. To improve, the student should focus on basic grammatical accuracy and proofreading for common errors.
