Student answer (Band 5.0)

Opinions are divided on wether studying independently on a self-study or study with assisstance of a teacher, I See that study english independently is more comfortable for me.

Supports of this view argue that stdying independetly give them the freedom to focus about them weakness, also they choose the sources they wante to study from, that depends on the style they like to study in, also the timing, people who agree with the idea of studying by them self, argue this idea with the freedom of choosing the time they want to study in, so that make learners more confortabls when they study.

Critics of this view believe that study with the assisstance of a educator has more benifits than study independently, one of them argue that the formal cours with an assitant teacher give resaults faster than self-study, also they believe that studying with a teacher make learners more decipline by flow the timing of the courses.

For me, I prefer studying independently on a self-study basis, i think that more comfortable for me, espicialy when i do not have lot of free time in my journey, studying idependetly give me the freedom to study on anytime I want, and make me focus more on my weakness so i can get the resulte i want more fast than when i flow formal courses, that make learning more eisier for me.

Finally, learning is somthing nessissary, however the way individuals prefer to go with, the two ways have deffernt adventages and problems, so everyone choose the way he agree with.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of the argument and providing a clear personal position. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding 'freedom' is repeated multiple times without adding depth or specific examples. The essay lacks a clear, structured argument that fully explores the implications of self-study versus formal education. While the position is consistent, the supporting points are repetitive and lack the necessary elaboration to reach a higher band. To improve, you should focus on developing each point with a concrete example or a more detailed explanation of why the chosen method is superior.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical and repetitive. Phrases like 'also' and 'that make' are used excessively to link ideas, which creates a choppy flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'one of them argue,' where the antecedent is ambiguous. Paragraphing is present, but the transition between the discussion of the two viewpoints and your personal opinion could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, which restricts the ability to convey complex ideas. There are frequent spelling errors such as 'wether' (whether), 'stdying' (studying), 'indepedetly' (independently), 'confortabls' (comfortable), 'benifits' (benefits), 'decipline' (disciplined), and 'nessissary' (necessary). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the range is not sufficient to demonstrate flexibility or precision. To improve, you should focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic words and expanding your vocabulary to include more precise synonyms for basic terms like 'good' or 'easy'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'studying independently give them'), incorrect word forms (e.g., 'make learners more decipline'), and punctuation errors. Complex sentence structures are attempted but are often faulty or contain errors that impede clarity. For example, the opening sentence is a run-on with unclear phrasing. To improve, you should practice using a wider variety of complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses and conditional sentences, while ensuring that basic subject-verb agreement and verb tenses are used accurately.
