Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the difficulties of self-study and the benefits of online learning. However, the position is somewhat underdeveloped, and the essay fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the depth of the argument. While the ideas are relevant, the supporting evidence—such as the cited surveys—is vague and lacks sufficient explanation to fully support the points made. To improve, you should expand on your arguments with more detailed reasoning and ensure you meet the minimum length requirement to allow for a more comprehensive exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is sometimes disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with' and 'On the other hand', they are occasionally used mechanically or incorrectly. For example, the transition 'Due to which in array of learners' is grammatically awkward and hinders the flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the connection between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help create a more cohesive and professional structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'personal intention' (likely meaning 'self-discipline') and 'an offline course' (used as 'a offline course'). The repetition of basic terms like 'online lectures' and 'good results' limits the sophistication of the writing. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and improving your control over collocations to express your ideas more naturally and effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('online study has becoming'), article usage ('a instructor'), and sentence fragments or awkward syntax ('The first of all convenient'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of question marks in statements. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage would be highly beneficial.
