Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, English become an essential subject in everyone lives. A group of people believe that, learning English without any vocational courses is far better than self study. However, other argue that, subject expert provides sufficient knowledge instead of alone study. In my opinion, I agree with the larger extent that, getting knowledge from the experts have more benefits.
The fundamental reason for my inclination is that, there are several advantages to learning under the English teacher. Because professionals have wide variety of knowledge. In addition to that, teachers are not only clear the concepts of the grammar, but also give suggestions to improve English; such as, read literature books and watching English contain movies. To cite an example, as per the survey of Oxford university, if learning English in proper manner under the surveillance of language experts. As consequence, the learner could easily understand the concept of the English.
Furthermore, another benefit is teachers give perfect guidelines to each and every pupils in schools. Because according to the standard teachers have better idea and they plan according to the level of English. As a result, pupils get easily understand concepts. Beside this, teachers provide knowledge via video animation in pre-schools. As a result, children are not only improve their English, but also improve visualization power.
Conversely, self-study is also important activity. Due to, larger number of students, many students do not clear their concepts so at that time self-study is key factor in their lives.
To conclude, self learning is good at certain period of time. But teacher plays crucial role in each every pupils, without teacher learning new language is quite difficult to students to manage their studies.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding 'video animation' in pre-schools is not directly relevant to the core issue of students managing independent study versus formal courses. While the main points are relevant, the supporting examples, such as the vague mention of an 'Oxford university survey,' lack specific detail and depth. To reach a higher band, you should focus on providing more logical, well-supported arguments that directly address the challenges of self-study versus the benefits of formal instruction.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore,' 'Conversely,' and 'To conclude.' However, the use of these devices is often mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as starting sentences with 'Because' or 'Due to,' which creates fragments rather than fluid, complex sentences. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the transitions between paragraphs could be smoother. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the overall flow is hindered by these structural issues.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'knowledge,' 'students,' and 'English.' You attempt to use some academic vocabulary, such as 'surveillance' and 'inclination,' but these are occasionally used in contexts that feel slightly unnatural or incorrect (e.g., 'under the surveillance of language experts' is an odd collocation). To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and a wider range of academic synonyms to avoid repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'English become,' 'teachers is'), incorrect word forms (e.g., 'English contain movies'), and sentence fragments (e.g., 'Because professionals have wide variety of knowledge'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
