Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of teacher-led instruction. However, the essay fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While the main arguments regarding motivation, error correction, and structured planning are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped due to the brevity of the response. To improve, you should expand on your examples and provide more detailed explanations for each point to ensure the response is fully developed and meets the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive, particularly the use of 'In Addition' and 'for instance'. Some transitions are abrupt, and the logical flow between sentences could be smoother. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between the teacher's role and the student's specific needs could be more explicitly linked. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring clear logical progression between sentences will enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors (e.g., 'vitaly', 'importent', 'realse', 'writting', 'speacking', 'diffrent', 'oncy', 'mange') and some awkward phrasing. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on basic terms rather than more sophisticated or academic language. To improve, focus on learning collocations and synonyms for common words, and pay closer attention to spelling accuracy, as these errors occasionally distract the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'teachers has', 'student who have'), article usage, and verb tense consistency (e.g., 'he will keeping improve'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and the colon in the second paragraph. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar structures limits the score. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and verb forms will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
