Student answer (Band 6.0)
Individuals argue about a large number of scholars choose to self paced learning English instead of doing offline study. However, teacher without guidence student faces challeges during study time. I disagree about this statement because todays due to advancement of technology e-learning is very helpful.
The primary advatange of online is convience. Online platform allow users to watch a vast range of lecture videos and programme at anytime and often at a relatively low cost. people no longer need to travel to offline class. Furthermore, innovative developments have significantly improved the quality of education. affortable course subscriptions enable individuals to learning ability increase. For the busy people and families, This flexibility can be particulary attractive.
Another reason is that self-study allows students to choose learning methods according to their individual needs and preferences. In a formal course, teachers generally follow a fixed syllabus, meaning that students may have to spend time studying topics they already understand. In contrast, independent learners can focus more on their weaknesses and use methods that suit them best. For instance, a student who wants to improve listening skills can regularly watch English films and listen to podcasts, while someone who needs to improve writing can practise essays and use online tools to check their mistakes. Therefore, self-study can make the learning process more personalised and effective.
Admittedly, studying without a teacher requires self-discipline and motivation. Some students may become distracted or may not know which materials to use. However, this problem can be overcome by setting clear goals and following a structured study plan. For instance, a learner can decide to study vocabulary every morning, practise listening in the afternoon and write an English essay at the weekend. By following such a routine, students can effectively monitor their own progress.
In conclusion, I disagree that students necessarily struggle to manage their English studies without a teacher. Although self-study requires discipline, the flexibility and abundance of online resources available today make it possible for motivated learners to improve their English successfully and independently.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have clearly addressed the prompt by taking a firm position against the statement. Your ideas are relevant and well-supported, particularly in the second and third body paragraphs where you provide specific examples of how self-study can be personalized. The introduction clearly states your disagreement, and the conclusion reinforces this. To reach a higher band, ensure that your opening sentence is more grammatically accurate, as the current phrasing is slightly confusing. Additionally, while your arguments are strong, ensure that you fully explore the counter-argument in the third paragraph to demonstrate a more balanced perspective before refuting it, which would further strengthen your overall task response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph has a central theme, and you use cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'In contrast', and 'Admittedly' to link your points effectively. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different aspects of your argument. However, there are minor issues with referencing and flow in the opening paragraph, where the connection between the prompt's premise and your disagreement could be smoother. Overall, the structure is clear and easy to follow, and the use of cohesive devices is generally natural and appropriate for this level.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to discuss the topic with some precision. Phrases like 'vast range of lecture videos', 'fixed syllabus', and 'monitor their own progress' are used effectively. There are some spelling errors, such as 'advatange', 'convience', 'guidence', and 'affortable', which slightly detract from the quality of the writing. While you attempt to use more sophisticated vocabulary, these recurring spelling mistakes and occasional word-choice issues (e.g., 'individuals to learning ability increase') suggest that you are at a Band 6 level. Focusing on proofreading for common spelling errors will help you reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'Individuals argue about a large number of scholars choose to self paced learning' (incorrect verb structure) and 'teacher without guidence student faces challeges' (missing articles and pluralization). While these errors are noticeable, they do not generally impede communication. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and the use of articles. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences will help you move toward a Band 7, as your current control of grammar is inconsistent.
