Student answer (Band 5.5)

while ,numerous learners argue to learn english by them self instead of consulting any english teacher or any related sources nevertheless, some howe they find difficulty to complete their preparation for study, I strongly disagree with this statement because without proper guidance scholars do not obtain knowledge and it affect their study due to distract other resources.

the prior cause of my strong argument ,that learners learn without teacher it might be affected their education due lack understanding and guidence. to elaborate it, when they study alone they might face various doubt related course so they can not gain proper knowledge aslo some andvance level english require expert to solve their issue regarding this subject. For example,my friend who learn english during holydays but he did not gain proper knowledge and he went to join classes for this.thus, illustrates that somehow anyone have to need expert on this subject .

furthermore, second cause related this matter is that if student do not join classes so it affect their behaviours .in other word , they join classes so they can bulid confidence and enhance communication skill as well but this thing never happen at home so they have to need teacher.to explicate it, they sometime might get distracted at home because of lack of peaceful environment so it affect their study.

in conclusion, independent learning might be created various problem which directly affected study ,for that i strongly believe that student must have to go school and learn from teachers so they can easily overcome they doubt and understand everything under proper guidence.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against independent learning. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you provide reasons such as the need for expert guidance and the importance of a structured environment, the arguments remain somewhat superficial and repetitive. The example of your friend is relevant but lacks sufficient detail to fully support your argument. To improve, aim to expand on your points by explaining the 'why' and 'how' more thoroughly, perhaps by discussing the psychological benefits of a classroom or the specific pedagogical limitations of self-study materials. The position is consistent, but the depth of analysis needs to be increased to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'the prior cause of my strong argument' and 'in other word' are used incorrectly or sound unnatural. Additionally, the transition between sentences is sometimes abrupt, making the flow of ideas feel disjointed. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects back to your main argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and often repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'scholars do not obtain knowledge' (where 'students' would be more appropriate) and 'they have to need teacher'. Spelling errors are also frequent, such as 'andvance', 'guidence', 'aslo', and 'bulid'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of precision and the high frequency of errors in basic vocabulary prevent a higher score. You should focus on learning common collocations and proofreading your work to correct basic spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently marred by grammatical errors. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence fragments (e.g., 'thus, illustrates that somehow anyone have to need expert'). Punctuation is also problematic, particularly the misuse of commas and the lack of capitalisation at the start of sentences. To improve, you should practice constructing complex sentences using subordinating conjunctions (e.g., 'although', 'because', 'which') and focus on basic grammatical accuracy, such as verb tenses and pluralisation.
