Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. While you acknowledge the benefits of self-study, the arguments supporting the necessity of a teacher are underdeveloped and lack specific examples or logical depth. Furthermore, the response is under the 250-word minimum requirement, which significantly impacts the ability to fully develop the argument. To improve, you should expand on your points with concrete examples and ensure your word count meets the minimum threshold to allow for a more thorough exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often unclear. While you use some cohesive devices like 'To commence with' and 'On the other hand', their usage is sometimes mechanical or misused, such as in the second paragraph where the transition between ideas feels disjointed. The referencing is occasionally confusing, making it difficult for the reader to follow your line of reasoning. Improving the logical flow between sentences and using a wider variety of linking words more naturally would help improve the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is limited and often imprecise. There are several instances of non-standard word choices, such as 'contramentry era', 'excl way', and 'betterly', which is not a standard English adverb. You also struggle with collocations, such as 'succeed us' instead of 'help us succeed'. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on using more precise vocabulary and correct collocations. Avoid inventing words or using informal phrasing; instead, aim to use a broader range of academic vocabulary appropriate for an IELTS essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure. For example, 'I am completely agree' should be 'I completely agree', and 'teacher guide us' should be 'teachers guide us'. Your sentence structures are mostly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences, and those that are attempted often contain errors. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency will be essential for improvement.
