Student answer (Band 4.5)

In today rapidy evolving world, english is wide range of speak language, every people must be learn this language. Moreover, most students choose to learn English itself whether to get subcription a normal course. But, without the instruction of a teacher, students often find it challenges to manage their studies. I fully disagree with this statement. This essay will atriculate my own aspect along with this statement.

To commence with down side that students learn English itself rather than without the assistance of a teacher. To more precise, students choose easy way to learn English but, teacher always get good ideas to improve students English knowledge skills. For example, I am week for English so, i purched English course but, I did not seen my improvement. After that, I went to start regular lecture in current time, I am very well in English. As a result, I speak fluent English. I have good ideas in English language.

On the other hand, there are another curcumstance as, student's perfome physical activity in the class. To more elaborate ferther on this point, teacher give good ideas that which fild students improve their skills. Looking at, I went to IELTS classes, teacher give me idea that I improve my listening skills. Therefore I started to listen Englishpodcasts.Consequenlty, I enhance my listening skill, and some words I queckly pickup.

To conclusion, English is one of best language that computer as well as, peoples also pickup. In addition, there are some disadvantages that student's learn itself such as, students choose own way, they do not see their improvement, as well as, teacher give good ideas about which field students improve their skill whereas, they study itself.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position («I fully disagree with this statement»), but the development of ideas is heavily constrained by language limitations. The student attempts to present arguments regarding the benefits of a teacher, such as receiving personalised guidance and direction in specific skills, referencing personal experience. However, the reasoning is often repetitive, overly simplistic, and hindered by unclear phrasing, particularly in the third and fourth paragraphs. While the prompt asks for an extent of agreement, the arguments fail to reach a fully developed level and lack elaboration beyond basic personal anecdotes. This performance aligns closely with Band 5, where the task is addressed, but the ideas are limited and under-developed, and the position, though stated, suffers from a lack of clear support throughout the response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the overall logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and confusing sentence connections. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or misapplied, as seen in phrases like «To commence with down side» and «To conclusion». Paragraphing is attempted, but internal paragraph structure lacks clear thematic unity; sentences bounce between ideas without smooth transitions, making the text difficult to follow at times. Referencing is also weak, with ambiguous pronouns such as «they do not see their improvement» where the antecedent is unclear. These issues place the response firmly in Band 4 to 5 territory, showing some basic organisation and paragraphing, but lacking clear overall progression and featuring inadequate or faulty cohesive devices.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently impeding communication. The student relies heavily on simple words and makes numerous severe word-choice and collocation errors, such as «rapidy evolving» instead of rapidly, «subcription a normal course», «challenges» instead of challenging, and «purched» instead of purchased. There are also noticeable spelling and morphological errors throughout the text, including «atriculate», «aspect» instead of perspective, «week» instead of weak, and «queckly pickup». Less common vocabulary items are attempted but are almost always misused or poorly formed. This demonstrates a limited and basic lexical range with frequent errors that cause significant difficulty for the reader, fitting the Band 4 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

Grammatical control is extremely weak throughout the response. The text features a very limited range of structures, and almost every sentence contains major grammatical errors. Basic rules of subject-verb agreement, tense consistency, and clause construction are frequently violated, as demonstrated in examples like «english is wide range of speak language, every people must be learn this language» and «teacher always get good ideas». Complex sentence attempts result in faulty and ungrammatical structures that distort meaning. Punctuation is also erratic. Because errors are dense and persistent across simple and complex forms alike, causing severe difficulty for the reader, the writing matches the Band 4 level for grammar.
