IELTS Writing Task 2 question
A huge number of students choose to study English independently on a self- study basis rather than attend a formal course. However, without the assistance of a teacher, students often find it difficult to manage their studies.
To what extent do you agree or disagree ?

Student answer (Band 5.0)
Learning any language needs an assistance. Almost every students want to learn English by their own but somehow students find it difficult when they have no assistance of a teacher. I agree to the fact that teacher is a person who is a form of guidance and without their guidance we can not be able to get command on the language.
Self study is often promote by the people however if the student, have no idea about the authentic sources or how to start from scratch; what will they going to learn. In Japan, schooling system is designed in a certain way that the student get proper knowledge and track of learning from their mentors and then they enforce to do self study. However, English for several students is not there mother tongue and if they are not willing, to join formal course and do not want ssistance eventually they will not grab even the basic level structure of the language.
Meanwhile, few students actually get command on the language by self study, but deeply looking toward the procedure of their learning, often they took a lecture online by social media apps even though they studies by their own. It shows that after prefer to do self study they need an assistance physically by the teacher or online by any mentor.
Therefore, endorcing the concept of self study, it always affiliated with the factor of assistance by the mentor specifically when it comes to study English language.
