IELTS Writing Task 2 question

A huge number of students choose to study English independently on a self- study basis rather than attend a formal course. However, without the assistance of a teacher, students often find it difficult to manage their studies.

To what extent do you agree or disagree ?

Student answer (Band 5.0)

A major value of pupils select to study english by their own on a self-study basis rather than attend a formal course. Nevertheless, without the assistance of a professor, students often find difficult to manage their academics. But from my view, i completely disagree with this statement.

One of the most convincing reasons behind my agreement is that for learning english language most of the students are preffering teachers for their studies because it is quite difficult for the students who are learning this particular language for the very first time. Moreover, professors can prepare their students very well rather than to study by their own self, and also the students can ask any doubts to their teachers without any fear.

Not only this, by learning english independently is very difficult for the beginners because they have never speak in this particular language. Furthermore, because of the lack in

understanding to the grammatical rules they are finding it more difficult to understand the grammer such as articles, nouns, adjectives, and vowels.

On the other hand, pupils are trying to learn english language by their ownself to become self-independent in their life, this can also make the students more matured and will boost their self-confidence. Additionally, this can also make them feel that they can learn and understand any language if they will try their best.

To conclude, i strongly oppose the view because if students will not take the preferred courses to learn english they will not understand the concept of the grammatical rules and regulations due to this reason they should take the help of proffesional professors for learning international language.
