Student answer (Band 5.5)

When it comes to studying english or any other language for that matter it is best to have some of assistance. While living in the age of artifical intelligence it is reduntant to have guidance of a physical teacher to help students to navigate through the journey of learning the English language. Artificial intelligence has come so far in so little time. It can help you creat a pathway to learn the English. Set achieveable goals and motivate and guide you through each and every step of the way just like any teacher will.

I am in favour of have assistance in learning but it does not mean i agree with the phycial presence of teacher is needed. AI can do a far greater job in helping students to learn. AI can be a form of teacher who never make mistakes, never takes a sick leave, and available to students at all times to help them learn at any time and date of the month. I recntly wanted to preapare for my english exam. I just gave AI my syllabus and it asked me some basic question to evaluate my readness for the exam. It then highlighted the areas where i was struggling. Help me understand where and why i was making mistakes. Helped me with some tips and tricks to overcome those mistakes. Eventuallly i aced that exame with the help of AI

Normally students face difficulties in the intial stage of the learning. They need a road map on where to start, what to focus on and where to all leads. The major part of learning is to evaluate your learning through the journey. AI can we help you with all of the above menitoned goal.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear position that artificial intelligence can effectively replace a physical teacher for independent English learning. Relevant ideas are presented, such as the advantages of AI in availability, personalized feedback, and error correction, as seen when the writer states, 'AI can be a form of teacher who never make mistakes, never takes a sick leave, and available to students at all times.' However, some parts of the response are more fully developed than others. The main body paragraph detailing personal experience with an English exam provides specific support, while other points regarding initial learning stages remain somewhat generalized and under-developed. To reach a higher level, all supporting arguments would need equal extension and depth.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance established from the beginning. Ideas are generally grouped logically, moving from a general introduction to personal experience and concluding with initial learning stages. However, progression is sometimes hindered by basic and repetitive transitional links, and paragraphing lacks sufficient development, particularly with the very short final paragraph consisting of only two sentences. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the phrase 'where to all leads,' which disrupts the flow. To improve, the writer needs to employ a wider range of cohesive devices more accurately and ensure logical progression is maintained consistently across all paragraphs.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, providing a sufficient range to communicate the main arguments about artificial intelligence and language learning. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'achieveable,' 'reduntant,' and 'evaluation,' but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable spelling errors ('artifical,' 'creat', 'preapare', 'readness', 'Eventuallly', 'intial') and word choice slips. Despite these inaccuracies, the errors do not severely impede communication. To move higher, the vocabulary range needs to be wider, with more precise word choices, correct collocations, and accurate spelling throughout the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to use varied structures. There are some errors in grammar, punctuation, and agreement, such as 'is best to have some of assistance,' 'the phycial presence of teacher is needed,' and missing verbs in dependent clauses like 'Help me understand where and why i was making mistakes.' However, these errors are mixed with error-free sentences and rarely impede overall communication. To achieve a higher score, the writer needs to demonstrate a more consistent control of complex structures, reduce basic grammatical slips, and ensure correct prepositional use and subject-verb agreement.
