Student answer (Band 6.0)
The issue about students choose to study English independently without the assistance of a teacher, as a result students can faced difficulties has become debated topic in the recent years. Some people think that a large number of learners decide to acquire knowledge in the english language by themselves on a individual learning instead of attending a organised course, nevertheless, without the support of a tutor, students usually faced challengies in their education, arguing that it has numerous merits. Others strongly disagree, believing that it can lead to potential drawbacks. I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. Throughout this essay, my stance will be dicusssed in the upcoming paragraphs with valid reasons and appropriate examples.
To begin with there are several reasons why i support this viewpoint. The primary and most significant reason is that teachers provide proper guidance and direction. They can offer better learning plan according to the student capability. Without the assistance, students can waste their time on less important topics.Additionally, another contributing factor is that tutors can correct mistakes immediately and gives instant feedback. Teachers can identify grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary mistakes. Due to that students can receive immediate result and avoid repeating the same errors. This is particularly important for speaking and writing.
On the other hand, some proponants argue that self-study can also be effective. First and foremost, it offers individual pace and learning style for acedamic learners. Students can spend more time on difficult topics and move quickly through easy ones. They can choose materials according to their own level and interests. This can make learning more comfortable and personalised. Furthermore, it provides flixebility. Students can learn anytime without any time restrication. They can create timetable according their personal routine. This is very useful for whose pupils they have job and other responsibilities.
In conclusion, individual learning has several positive aspacts such as flexibilty and own learning style, i firmly believe that it has numerous negative aspacts like lack of motivation and guidence and feedbacks.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt, establishing a clear position of agreement with the statement that studying English independently without a teacher creates difficulties in managing studies. The essay presents relevant ideas regarding the benefits of teachers, such as proper guidance and immediate feedback, as well as acknowledging counterarguments about the flexibility of self-study. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed or repetitive, particularly in the conclusion and body paragraphs, where certain points lack deeper elaboration with specific examples. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to fully extend all main arguments with richer details and concrete personal or academic scenarios rather than relying on general assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt at logical progression. Paragraphing is utilised correctly to separate the introduction, body paragraphs addressing different viewpoints, and the conclusion. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and repetitive, relying on standard transitional phrases like 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. Referencing within sentences is occasionally faulty, such as in the concluding sentence where clauses are awkwardly linked together without proper conjunctions. To improve further, the writer should use a wider variety of sophisticated cohesive devices and ensure smoother transitions between sentences to make the flow more natural and unobtrusive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, demonstrating an attempt to incorporate less common items such as 'individual learning', 'proponants', and 'personalized'. However, there are noticeable word-choice, spelling, and word-form errors that reflect a limited range and some imprecision, including 'challengies', 'academics learners', 'flixebility', 'restrication', 'aspacts', and 'guidence'. Phrases like 'on a individual learning' and 'according their personal routine' contain collocational and prepositional inaccuracies. While these lexical slips do not seriously impede communication, they restrict the score. To achieve a higher band, the student must expand their control of less common vocabulary, improve spelling accuracy, and ensure correct word forms and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses. Nevertheless, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('students can faced', 'tutors can correct mistakes immediately and gives instant feedback'), awkward syntactic phrasing ('The issue about students choose to study'), and missing articles or prepositions. Punctuation in the conclusion is also faulty, with comma splices connecting independent clauses. While these errors rarely impede overall communication, they occur regularly enough to prevent a higher rating. To progress, the writer needs to increase grammatical accuracy in complex structures and pay closer attention to verb forms, tenses, and sentence boundaries.
