Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You discuss both independent study and learning with a teacher, and your conclusion gives a clear preference: “having the guidance of a teacher is indispensable.” However, the position is not clear throughout, as the opening says only that some students find each approach easy or difficult. The reasons are also limited or unclear: for example, the claim that teachers “feel burden” and “dont know much vocabulary” is not explained or supported, while the benefits of teacher experience are only briefly listed. The response is 25 words below the required minimum, which leaves less space to develop relevant reasons and examples. To strengthen the response, state your degree of agreement in the introduction and explain each main point with a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: you introduce the topic, discuss studying alone, contrast it with studying alongside a teacher, and finish with a conclusion. Phrases such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help signal these stages. However, progression between ideas is often difficult to follow, and the response is not divided into clear paragraphs. Some sentences combine several points without showing how they relate, such as the description of teachers giving tests and covering units. The sentence “The reason both have totally different idea” does not clearly connect to the preceding comparison. Use one paragraph for each main viewpoint, and link each reason to an explanation or example so the reader can follow the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “syllabus,” “vocabulary,” “experience,” and “objective feedback,” and the final sentence shows an attempt to express a more precise academic idea. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make meaning less clear, such as “vacubulary,” “distinctions dictationary meanings,” and “summurise.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “study with alone” and “manage all the syllabus manage it on days.” Aim to learn accurate collocations for education, such as “study independently,” “follow a study schedule,” and “receive feedback.” Proofread spelling and choose familiar, precise expressions rather than attempting unclear combinations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts a few longer sentences and uses basic contrast structures, but sentence control is inconsistent and the range of accurate structures is limited. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in “Some students wants” and “teacher knows,” while the opening sentence is difficult to interpret because its clauses are not connected clearly. There are also problems with articles, sentence boundaries, and punctuation, for example “In conclusion it often falls short due to lack of objective feedback and structured direction.therefore.” These errors sometimes make the intended relationships between ideas unclear. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement, articles, and punctuation. Short, accurate sentences will help before adding more complex clauses.
