Student answer (Band 5.5)
Now a days, larger ammount of student try to learn English by themsleves withouth going to a teacher, and seems to have hard time learning. I strongly agree with this view because without a proper guide student can't learn efficiently and they need feedback to improve.
The main reason why student need a proper guidance is that they can learn English in a structural way. When students choose to study by themselves, they find it quite difficult where to start, and how to progress. As a result, they can't able to learn the foundation for English. For exemple, to learn English properly they have to learn grammar first, then comes the sentence formation. If a student started learning parts of speech before tense, they will lack the basic stucture of a sentense.
Another important reason to have a guidance is that, they need to have a proper feedback. While learning a new subject or language, you have to have soumeone who can give you feedback. Without having a proper feedback student can't able to find their lackings, and can't improve their efficiency in the language. For instance, speaking is a key aspects of learning English. When a student try to learn speaking, they can't identify their own mistake. So, when you have a teacher to assist, they can tell them their mistakes and where to improve. It can help the student to learn accurately.
In conclusion, I stongly believe that students need to have a teacher for assiststing their learning path accurately and genuine feedback for improving the drawbacks. Although, some can able to find ways for slef study.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that independent learners need guidance, and the conclusion maintains this view. You address the main issue with two relevant reasons—structured learning and feedback—and illustrate them with examples about learning grammar and identifying speaking mistakes. This fully covers the central question and shows some development. However, the examples are quite general, and the point that some learners can succeed independently appears only briefly at the end, without explanation. To strengthen the response further, explain how a teacher’s guidance leads to better progress and develop the qualification about successful self-study with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. Topic sentences such as “The main reason…” and “Another important reason…” help readers follow the argument, while “For example” introduces supporting details. However, connections sometimes feel mechanical, and references are not always clear. In the speaking example, the shift from “a student” to “you” and then “they” makes it less clear who is giving feedback. The conclusion’s final concession is also added abruptly. Use consistent references and link the concession to your position, explaining why teacher support remains valuable even though some learners can study alone.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “guidance,” “feedback,” “foundation,” and “sentence formation.” These choices show an attempt to discuss learning processes rather than relying only on very basic terms. However, the range is limited, and noticeable spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the writing less clear, as in “ammount,” “structural way,” “lackings,” and “drawbacks.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “proper feedback” repeated several times and “learn speaking.” Build a wider set of accurate collocations—for example, “structured approach,” “identify weaknesses,” and “practise speaking”—and proofread spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “When” and “While,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction. Examples include “they can't able to learn,” “a student started learning,” and “a student try to learn speaking”; these should be revised to forms such as “they cannot learn,” “if a student starts,” and “a student tries to practise speaking.” Articles and plurals also need attention, as in “student need” and “a key aspects.” Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb, then review agreement and articles.
