Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, a wide range of individuals prefer to self-study instead of offline classess; however, without help of tutor students finds difficuties in their studies. So,in this essay , I partially agree with this statement and I will discuss in following paragraphs.
On the one hand, there are multiple reasons of a majority of students choose to study English independently. The first and foremost, advancements in technology. In other words, due to advancements in technology learners can easily study by themselves with the help of their smartphones and laptops. Additionally, internet is also accessible in all over the world,so students can search any particular topics and difficulties on google or chat GPT.These are applications provide latest information in details. So nowadays, self-studies are become very popular and easily accessible for the learners. For example, in Canada, a wide range of students prefer to self- studies to learn french language. Thus, due to advancements in technology a more and more students prefer to study by themselves.
On the other hand, without the help of tutor learners often find difficulties in their studies. The one major issue is a distraction by other tasks. To elaborate, if students learn by their mobile phone or laptops, they can distracted by massages and other notification. As a result, students can not concentrate on their studies and they phase difficulties in their study. Moreover, sometimes learners can not understand a specific topics or subjects, but they are not able to ask their teacher because they are learning by without assistance of teacher and they can not solve their doubts.
In conclusion, although due to advancements in technoloy self-study is more convenient and accessible, but without help of teacher students can find difficulties in their studies.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you partially agree that independent learners can struggle without a teacher. You address both sides, explaining that technology makes self-study accessible and that notifications and unanswered questions can make learning difficult. These points are relevant, and the examples of using phones, laptops and online tools help illustrate them. However, the discussion is uneven: the advantages of self-study receive more explanation, while the difficulties are stated briefly and not supported with a specific example. The Canada example also shifts to learning French rather than English, so its relevance to the task is limited. Develop the challenges further and explain more directly how teacher guidance helps learners manage their studies.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two sides, and a conclusion that restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “As a result” make the progression easy to follow. This gives the essay a coherent framework. Some linking is mechanical or repetitive, however: “due to advancements in technology” appears several times, and the conclusion largely repeats the introduction. A few connections between ideas are also abrupt, particularly the move from online access to the Canada example. To strengthen cohesion, vary your transitions, use clear references to connect related points, and make each paragraph build toward your final judgement.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to education and technology, including “independently,” “accessible,” “distraction,” and “concentrate,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation and spelling errors reduce precision. Examples include “offline classess,” “a distraction by other tasks,” “phase difficulties,” and “latest information in details.” There are also repeated phrases such as “advancements in technology” and “students prefer to study by themselves.” Aim to use more natural academic collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish between the convenience of self-study and the specific problems learners encounter.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, using structures such as “if students learn by their mobile phone or laptops” and “because they are learning…”. This shows some range, and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “students finds difficulties” should have a plural verb, while “they can distracted” is missing a form of “be.” The sentence beginning “The first and foremost, advancements in technology” is a fragment, and several sentences run together without appropriate spacing or punctuation. Practise building complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, articles and verb forms, especially when combining clauses.
