Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, many students choose to learn english on their own through self-study rather than attend a formal course. However, without the proper guidence of a teacher, learners mostly find it hard to manage their curriculams. I completely agree with this view that students decides to study english independently on a self-study to get it done at their own pace and flexibility and other is that if any issue incurred during those sessions, then they can get help fron search engines.

One compelling reason why I support this view is that english can be studied by any individual independently with their own way and time. This is because students with hectic schedule are unable to study at particular time, so they decides to consume education in free time. Which provides flexibility to the learner and able to outperform in the academics. For instance, most of the individuals prefer online self-paced study material for english, which helps them to learn at anytime from anywhere and most importantly there are many people who works in corporate world don't get much time to devote in english in day time that's why they opet self study sessions for themselves.

Other most important reason is search engines like Gemini, Chatgpt, Claude etc, are always used to get corrections in the vocabulary and grammar which mostly effect their overall fluency of english. AI provides us variety of solutions for problems faced by the

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

Your position is identifiable: you say, “I completely agree,” and give reasons involving flexible study times and help from search engines. These points are relevant, but the response does not fully address the question of whether learners struggle to manage their studies without a teacher; it mainly describes advantages of self-study. The second reason is unfinished, ending with “AI provides us variety of solutions for problems faced by the,” and there is no conclusion. The response also contains 220 words, so it is 30 words below the required minimum; 17 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop the argument about managing study—for example, explain how a teacher provides structure and feedback—and complete the essay with a clear concluding statement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic paragraph structure: an introduction is followed by a paragraph about flexibility and another beginning a point about search engines. Linking phrases such as “One compelling reason” and “For instance” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, the progression is difficult to follow in places. The introduction combines your position with several ideas in one long sentence, and the second body paragraph stops mid-sentence, leaving the argument incomplete. Some connections are also unclear, such as “Which provides flexibility” after a full stop, and “Other most important reason” does not form a smooth transition. Use one main idea per paragraph, connect each example explicitly to your claim, and add a conclusion to give the response a complete overall progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “self-paced study material,” “flexibility,” “hectic schedule,” and “overall fluency.” These choices show an effort to discuss independent learning beyond very basic terms. However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “guidence,” “curriculams,” “fron,” and “opet.” Some expressions are also awkward or imprecise, such as “consume education” and “get it done at their own pace.” Capitalise “English” consistently, and choose natural collocations such as “study at their own pace” and “receive guidance.” More accurate phrasing would make your ideas easier to understand and help you express the distinction between self-study’s benefits and its challenges.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “This is because” and a relative clause in “material … which helps them.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “students decides” and “people who works” have subject–verb agreement errors; “Which provides flexibility” is a sentence fragment; and “students … and able to outperform” lacks a complete parallel structure. The final sentence is also incomplete. Practise checking agreement, ensuring each sentence has a main clause, and using punctuation to separate complete thoughts. Building accurate sentences first, then adding subordinate clauses, will help you express your ideas more reliably.
