IELTS Writing Task 2 question

A huge number of students choose to study English independently on a self- study basis rather than attend a formal course. However, without the assistance of a teacher, students often find it difficult to manage their studies.

To what extent do you agree or disagree ?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your knowledge experience.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

A wide range of students want to learn English language autonomously rather then joining of any academic institution. Whereas, absence of proper guidance creates difficulties for students to handle their study properly. I believe both are importants because teachers provide appropriate environment, proper guidance and important tips for students, and online tools provide wide range of knowledge and information.

Firsty, teachers furnish a valuable lessons to students, which mainly helps in learning English. Self correction is difficult for everyone, so teacher offers correction of their students, such as pronuciation, grammars and helps to improve their vocabulary. For example, many students start to learn English but they lack of proper guided teachers, they faced some difficulties, like unable to pronounce words correctly and a limited vocabulary can diminished their fluency.

Secondly, the proliferation of digital technology provides a plenty of English learning tools but limited awareness regarding these online resources can create some problems. Many students start study by the use of digital platforms like Chat GPT and Gemini and gains a lot of information from that but unconsistency in learning is a beg issues, some students start learning independently for some times and then left for several days, it minimizes their intereste, so learning through academy provides proper schedule for study, which helps students to follow staight direction of the study.

However, I claim that both play a key rule in English learning. Teachers provide proper methods and guidance but studies independently through various internet services can offer various information.

In conclusion, although self study regarding English learning through different online websites and joining of institute creates appropriate environment for learner, I totally agree that both of these are importants for students because it provides knowledge and proper learning methods

For instance, the second paragraph moves from online tools to inconsistent study and then to academy schedules in one long sequence, so the relationship between these points is not always easy to track. The final paragraph largely repeats the position rather than adding a clear synthesis. Use shorter, more focused paragraphs and make each one develop a single main point, with clearer links between the claim, explanation and example.
