Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You express a relevant personal position: “i preafer study by self,” and give reasons, including that students have different problems and that independent study can save time and allow focus on a particular task. These points show an attempt to answer the question. However, the response addresses it only minimally: it does not clearly explain whether students can manage their studies without a teacher, and the comparison with classroom teaching is left unfinished (“so”). The response also falls well short of the required 250 words, so the position and reasons are not sufficiently developed or supported with examples. To improve, state your degree of agreement directly, explain how learners can plan and monitor self-study, and develop each reason with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic line of thought: you prefer self-study, then explain that students have different needs and can focus on particular tasks. However, the ideas run together in one long, unpunctuated sequence, and the final point about studying in a group is incomplete. The repeated use of “and” does not clearly show how the reasons relate to one another, while the contrast between self-study and teacher-led classes needs clearer signposting. Organise the response into paragraphs, with one main idea in each, and use full stops to separate complete thoughts. Linking phrases such as “In contrast” or “For example” would help make the progression easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a small set of relevant words and phrases, including “self study,” “teacher,” “particular task,” and “saves a lot of time.” These communicate the general topic, but the vocabulary is basic and repetitive, and several spelling errors make the writing harder to read, such as “preafer,” “beleve,” and “focous.” Some expressions are also imprecise: “manage the hole class” does not clearly convey the teacher’s workload, and “deal with their problem by their own” is not a natural phrase. Build a more accurate range for discussing learning, such as “study independently,” “individual learning needs,” and “receive personalised guidance,” and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to connect several ideas in longer sentences, but sentence structures are mostly simple or joined with “and,” and control is limited. For example, “every student has different problems in study and they deal with their problem by their own” has problems with articles, number agreement, and sentence construction. In “a teacher manage the hole class,” the subject and verb do not agree, and the sentence continues without clear punctuation. The final clause beginning “and in a group” is incomplete. Use shorter, complete sentences first, checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and singular/plural forms; then practise adding a range of correctly punctuated complex sentences.
