Student answer (Band 5.0)
I think self study idea is good but it depends on the student how do they manage their study and time both perfectly and also how do they solve the problem when it become so difficult to solve. Also student have to acknowledge what is their weak points can they manage study without any teacher or not and also they need to know about their level of English like you can study basic English on your own but when the English language grammar specifically got too intense it become a huge problem to the students when they don't know the basic grammar. By their self study they can improve their English for like intermediate or upper intermediate the one often we think as a fluent but when they want to study abroad and their university wants advanced level English through ielts then they need to put some extra effort to vocabulary and also making sentences trick that will help them to get the exact result I think without a teacher it would take a long time for them but they can also do that but If they want to do that within short time they need teachers assistance. But with intense study routine can also help them to improve their English. Even though they find it difficult they can search about the think they find difficult on Internet we all have the access of Internet nowadays and also it gives us a good answer too. And also they have so many videos about what they want to learn they can search and watch it and memorise it without any help or physical teacher but they can get the help from the online teacher who uploaded video about how to learn or speak and also bout grammar.i think it helps a lot. So basically if they found it hard they can zeek help from Internet and If they are not comfortable with that they can also seek help from the teacher .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a relevant, qualified position: independent study can work for some learners, while a teacher is useful when English becomes difficult or progress needs to be faster. The examples about learning basic English independently, preparing for IELTS, and using online videos support this view. However, the response does not fully develop the reasons behind your position. For instance, you mention that students need to identify their weak points, but do not explain how this affects their ability to manage study. The discussion also shifts between self-study, online resources, and teacher support without clearly weighing how far you agree with the claim that students struggle without a teacher. Develop two main reasons and explain each with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a recognisable line of thought, moving from the conditions under which self-study works to the value of teachers and online resources. However, ideas are not arranged into clear paragraphs, and the response reads largely as one extended sequence. Connectors such as “also,” “but,” and “and also” recur frequently, so relationships between points can feel repetitive rather than carefully signposted. The final sentence repeats the idea that learners can seek help online or from a teacher instead of drawing the argument together. Use separate paragraphs for your position, the limitations of independent study, and the role of online support. Within each paragraph, make one point, explain it, and link it clearly to the question.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “self study,” “intermediate,” “advanced level,” “vocabulary,” and “teacher’s assistance.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “intense study routine.” However, the range is limited by repeated general words and phrases, particularly “study,” “difficult,” “help,” and “good.” Some choices are inaccurate or unclear, such as “making sentences trick” and “zeek help,” which make parts of the message harder to understand. Aim for more precise language about learning strategies and progress, and check spelling and collocations. For example, “sentence-building techniques” would express your meaning more naturally than “making sentences trick.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to express complex relationships using clauses with “when,” “but,” and “even though,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, many sentences are very long and combine several ideas without reliable punctuation, which makes the grammar difficult to follow. There are frequent problems with agreement and verb forms, as in “it become a huge problem” and “if they found it hard,” as well as question structure in “how do they manage their study.” Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, for example “student have to” and “their weak points.” Use shorter sentences and practise accurate subject–verb agreement, question forms, and sentence boundaries. This would make your ideas clearer while allowing you to retain some complex structures.
