Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is argued that, In contemporary world students relied on self- study to study English rather than attend a physical course, whereas some mention that it is difficult to manage their studies without the available of a teacher. I partially agree with the statement and believe that studying independently increase focus and consistency towards study. However, guidence of teacher also help to improve improve their physical and mental capability.
In the one hand, English is the most demandable subjects in the modern era, many students choose study English by themselves because In this era students chooses Internet and find many resources also there are many videos available. Due to this they learn more things and also it helps to stay focus and consistent on the study. for example, my friend want to go study abroad and he do not speak english properly so he himself prepare by studying alone and he consumes that studying alone help to stay consistent.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state a position—“I partially agree”—and introduce both independent study and teacher support, so the response is relevant to the question. However, the discussion is only partial: the first body paragraph gives a brief reason and one personal example, while the second side is left unfinished at “On the other hand, By attending physical class with the teacher”. As a result, the benefits of teacher guidance are not explained, and your position is not supported across both sides. The response also does not meet the required minimum of 250 words, which leaves too little space to develop your ideas. Complete the second argument and explain how each reason supports your degree of agreement, using specific examples or consequences.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is a basic overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph about independent study, and an attempted transition to the opposing view. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand” help signal a change in direction. However, the progression stops when the final paragraph begins, so the essay has no developed conclusion or completed comparison. Some connections are also awkward or repetitive: “Due to this” and “also” link ideas, but the relationship between access to online resources and improved focus is not fully explained. The opening sentence contains several ideas joined together, making the line of argument harder to follow. Use one clear main idea per paragraph, develop it in a logical sequence, and finish with a conclusion that restates your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “self-study”, “resources”, “consistent” and “physical class”, and the reader can generally identify your subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which makes parts of the response less natural. Examples include “the most demandable subjects”, “stay focus”, and “available of a teacher”; these expressions do not convey your meaning precisely. There are also spelling and form errors such as “guidence” and “improve improve”. Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “a popular subject”, “remain focused”, and “access to a teacher”. Vary repeated words like “study” and “students” with suitable alternatives, while prioritising correct use over more ambitious vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, for example the opening sentence contrasts independent study with teacher support, and “because” introduces a reason. However, the range is limited and errors occur frequently, sometimes making the reader pause. In “many students choose study English”, the verb pattern should be “choose to study”; “students chooses” has incorrect subject–verb agreement; and “my friend want” should be “my friend wants”. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention: “In contemporary world” requires an article, and the long sentence beginning “English is the most…” should be divided or punctuated more clearly. The final sentence fragment is incomplete. Practise accurate verb forms and complete sentences before adding more complex structures.
