Student answer (Band 5.0)
A large amount of scholars chose to study English on a self-study basis and did not attend formal class .however without the guidence of a teacher ,students had problems in managing their studies . To my understanding I would say there are two types of students everywhere some who like to study with a bunch of other students and enjoy being in a regular class while there are others who enjoy studying in a quite and alone atmosphere. Both of the kinds of students can grow and groom well in the environment they are comfortable . A extrovert student who wants to be in a class with his other classmates learn more than being home studying by himself because it is his nature he like to take help from the teaches and notes from his classmates while if we speak about a student who enjoys studying independently he have his own reason this kind of students learn more while sitting on a table alone teaching the topic to themselves while surely they face the problem of not having someone physically present to guide them besides they can get help from the internet about the topic .In my opinion we should let the students have their own choices according to thier comfort and nature .we should let the student decide however they can grow more .But if we talk scientifically , it is proven by the studies of human brain that pupil learn more in a formal environment where he can hear the opinion of other students talking about the topic but I guess we should let the students decide .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the topic and give a general position: students should choose the study environment that suits them, while formal classes may offer benefits. The contrast between students who prefer classmates and those who study alone is relevant, and you acknowledge that independent learners may lack direct guidance but can use the internet. However, the response does not clearly answer how far you agree with the claim that students often struggle without a teacher; your position shifts between supporting choice and suggesting formal study is scientifically more effective. The examples and reasons are also broad rather than developed. State your degree of agreement clearly, then explain and support that position with a specific example of how a teacher helps or how an independent learner manages difficulties.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a recognisable overall sequence: you introduce different learning preferences, compare classroom and independent study, and end with a view about student choice. However, the response is presented as one long paragraph, so the stages of the argument are difficult to follow. Several ideas are joined in extended sentences, and links such as “while,” “besides,” and “but” do not always show the relationship clearly. The conclusion also repeats the idea of letting students decide without resolving the tension with your claim that formal learning may be more effective. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, and conclusion, and make each paragraph develop one main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the general topic, including “self-study basis,” “formal environment,” “guide,” and “independently.” There are also attempts at more expressive language, such as “grow and groom,” but this phrase is not natural in this context and makes the meaning less precise. Noticeable spelling and word-choice problems include “guidence,” “quite” where “quiet” is intended, and “teaches” for “teachers.” Some phrases are also awkward, such as “a bunch of other students” and “teaching the topic to themselves.” Aim for accurate, natural academic collocations rather than decorative wording; for example, use “develop effectively,” “a group of classmates,” and “explain the material to themselves.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to express comparisons and complex relationships, particularly in the sentence contrasting classroom learners with those who study independently. However, the range is limited in practice because several long sentences are joined without clear grammatical control. Errors include “A extrovert student … learn,” “he have,” and “he like,” where subject–verb agreement is missing; “students … did not attend” also shifts into past tense despite a general discussion. Articles and sentence boundaries are frequently inaccurate, as in “in a quite and alone atmosphere” and the run-on opening. These errors sometimes make the reader work to follow your meaning. Practise shorter, complete sentences first, then combine ideas using controlled subordinate clauses and check agreement and tense.
