Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that mostly students choogse to study English by their own without joining a formal course. While others believe that studying alone can create trouble for the students to manage the things without any help from other.I strongly agree that students have the capability to study by their self without joing an academy or hiring a tutor. This essay will discuss the two main reasons regarding students should study alone to support my view.
One of the primary reason is that students can learn or study a subject at any time in the day . they donot have to follow a strict timetbale. They just take any lecture from internet at any time and then practcie it, when they are free.To be specific it can save alaot of their time . For instance, a student usually get free at the night ,so he make the routine to study one houe at night. As a result,he can conveniently schedule his routine.
Another significant factor is that English is a language which can easily learn by practice but not by listening to a lecture . The students can practice it by standing infront of the mirror . In other words they gave many ways in which they can study well. For example, the students do an activity, then take some time to evaluate himself that what he did wrong and what he did rright , Consequently, he can acheive well and understand things easily.
In conclusion, I firmly beilieve the argument that most students have the capability to learn independently by managing their time annd using correct techniques. They can do anything by their own they just have the stmina.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you strongly support independent study, and you give two relevant reasons—flexible scheduling and the value of practising English. The examples about studying at night and practising in front of a mirror help connect these reasons to students’ experience. However, the response only partly engages with the concern in the prompt: that learners may struggle to manage their studies without a teacher. You do not explain how independent learners can overcome problems such as choosing suitable materials, maintaining progress, or correcting mistakes. The claim that English is learned through practice rather than lectures is also broad and needs fuller explanation. Addressing this counterpoint and developing each example more specifically would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your view. This makes the overall argument easy to follow. You also use signposting such as “One of the primary reason,” “Another significant factor,” and “In conclusion” to show the stages of your discussion. At times, however, the links between ideas are mechanical or unclear. For example, “In other words they gave many ways” does not clearly explain the preceding point, and “Consequently” is awkwardly attached to the example that follows. Some references, such as “the things” and “he,” are vague or shift from plural students to a singular student. Use clearer links and references, and make each example explicitly support its paragraph’s main idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main points, including “formal course,” “strict timetable,” “practice,” “evaluate,” and “manage their time.” There are also attempts to express ideas in different ways, such as “schedule his routine” and “study independently.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “study by their own,” “take any lecture from internet,” and “they just have the stmina.” Spelling errors such as “choogse,” “practcie,” and “acheive” are also noticeable. Build a more accurate set of phrases for independent learning and review spelling; precise expressions will make your ideas easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “English is a language which…” and a conditional-style example about a student studying at night. However, complex structures are often not controlled, and errors in sentence formation, verb forms, agreement, and punctuation can make parts difficult to follow. For example, “English is a language which can easily learn by practice” is missing a passive construction, while “a student usually get free… so he make the routine” has agreement and verb-form problems. The opening also contains a sentence fragment beginning “While others believe…”. Practise forming complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb patterns. More accurate control of these basics would make your argument clearer.
