Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years, majority of students prefer to study English independently on self study than attending formal courses. This is widely believed that this issue has became increasngly significant in all the modren students accross the globe. While there are many pros of independent study on self bases inclusing independence of learning according to own peace, certein drawabacks are also will be present such as chance of makig istakes by students. I disagree with argument second thing that is student fee difficulty to manage studies because of having recorded lectures given by officials. Thid essay will discuss the both assumtion.

To inspect with the frst argument of student chooing to study English independetly according to their own peace which make them responsible to do their work correctly on time. For instance, student learn things according to their peace and responsibe for their deads. This may result, student will improve their academic outcomes. Adiitionally, student prefer to learn things online from different learning plateforms that keep then up to date and more advance. For example, students learn differnt englsh courses and learn by their peers from plateforms like coursera, uaccademy etc. This may result student get awareness and use multiple plateforms for learning and get awareness of modren technology aongwith great access.

in line to, other assuption about diffculty in managing studides without expert tracher could be litthe bit problrm but not serious one because it is themodren era. Students could learn differnet ideas related to one thing. Students culd manage and solve dificult questions by using youtube lectures from experts and could manage their studies. No doubt teacher assistance is importance but nline tracherand guidance is also important. For instance students could gt help from chatgpt to sove diiferen question for them.

At the glance, alothough the benefits of independent learning are more but some drawback could not be ignored, According to my personal prospective studnets should do independent learning by using plateforms but they should get guidance about the accuracy and should not completely rely on tecnilogy because it could creat problem fo studnets and pay dnegative effect on learning.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You take a position by disagreeing that independent learners necessarily struggle to manage their studies, and you give relevant reasons: flexible pacing, online courses, YouTube lectures and help from ChatGPT. These examples keep the response connected to the question. However, the task is only partly addressed because the discussion of the opposing view is brief, and your position becomes less clear in the conclusion, where you acknowledge drawbacks and recommend guidance without explaining how this affects your disagreement. Several claims, such as independent study improving academic outcomes, are asserted rather than explained or supported. Develop fewer points more fully, and state clearly whether you agree, disagree, or partly agree with the claim throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the paragraphs broadly group related ideas. Examples such as online platforms and expert lectures also help illustrate the points. However, progression is not consistently clear: the opening lists advantages and disadvantages before introducing your position, while the final paragraph shifts towards a recommendation without clearly resolving the argument. Some linking phrases are inaccurate or mechanical, including “To inspect with,” “in line to,” and “At the glance.” Repeated use of “For instance” and “This may result” also makes connections feel formulaic. Use straightforward transitions that show contrast and cause, and make each paragraph develop one main point in a clear sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “independent learning,” “academic outcomes,” “guidance,” and “technology,” and you refer to specific learning platforms. However, the range is limited and many spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, for example “own peace” for pace, “deads” for duties, and “plateforms.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “pros of independent study on self bases” and “get awareness.” These errors sometimes obscure your intended meaning, which limits the effectiveness of the vocabulary. Build a reliable set of topic-specific collocations and check spelling carefully; prefer clear, accurate wording over attempts at complex phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “although.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors in sentence formation and agreement can make the reader work to understand your meaning. For example, “This is widely believed that this issue has became” has an incorrect construction and verb form, while “student learn things” and “students could gt help” show problems with agreement and sentence accuracy. Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, particularly at the start of paragraphs and around sentence boundaries. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add subordinate clauses and check each sentence for a clear subject, correct verb form and complete structure.
