Student answer (Band 5.5)
a great amount pf students tries to study English independendly, rather than attending a formal class or coaching. some students find it difficult without a proper guideline from a teacher, managing to learn become difficult for them.
i agree with this statement as it is difficult to learn something without a proper guide. A teacher know how to teach, what steps to follow, how many lessons are required, all the tips and tricks. ut if a student tries solely, e find it hard to manage as their is no guideline, he gets confused and doesn't know where to start. for example, a student who want to learn tenses find it difficult to find the starting point. the teacher makes it easy by telling short tips and tricks to follow in solving or learning these.
managing rime is also a problem. when a student learns himself , hecould not manage time. he gets easy on hiself reseulting in not acheiving goal. for example, if a student want to lean english, he makes timetable and tries to follow it. the other day, if theri is a distraction like guests, or social media who would notbe able to focus on learning. on the othr hadn if a student is taking classes from a tutor, he will be puntual, he knows he have to study at that moment, and will not get easy on himself.
in conclusion, one need proper assistance in getting the goal. proper guideline is useful as it saves time, reduces presure and one can get the knowledge of a professional.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that independent learners can struggle without a teacher. You address two relevant reasons—difficulty knowing what to study and managing time—and support them with examples about learning tenses and being distracted by guests or social media. This answers the main question, but the ideas are not equally developed. The discussion of guidance includes useful detail about a teacher setting steps, while the time-management point relies mainly on a timetable and a tutor’s fixed schedule. Explain more fully why these problems affect learning outcomes, and consider acknowledging that some students can manage independently. The conclusion restates your view but could synthesise the reasons more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall route through your argument. However, progression within sentences and between ideas is sometimes unclear, and linking is often mechanical. For example, repeated use of “for example” introduces illustrations without explaining how they prove the point, while “on the other hand” does not set up a clear contrast. Some references are also difficult to follow, such as “he” and “these” in the first body paragraph. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example explicitly to its claim, and vary linking expressions while ensuring they express the intended relationship.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “guideline,” “manage time,” “timetable,” “distraction,” and “professional.” However, the range is limited and several choices or spellings make the writing less clear or natural. Examples include “get easy on himself” for being lenient with oneself, “proper guide” where “qualified guidance” would be more precise, and “learn tenses” rather than “study verb tenses.” Spelling errors such as “independendly,” “presure,” and “acheiving” are noticeable. Build a bank of accurate education-related collocations and proofread spelling; this will make your meaning more precise without requiring unnecessarily advanced vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including the question sequence “what steps to follow, how many lessons are required” and conditional examples beginning “if a student…”. The main ideas are generally understandable, but errors in sentence structure and basic grammar occur often enough to affect clarity. For instance, “A teacher know” needs subject–verb agreement, “a student who want” needs a plural or singular form used consistently, and “he knows he have to study” has an agreement error. Some sentences also run together or lack clear punctuation, particularly in the first body paragraph. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, complete sentence boundaries, and controlled complex sentences before adding more structures.
