Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is true that study english independently can be difficult to manage their studies. Some people tend towards that study by themselves because it can improve their concentration and imaginations. I would like to support the idea that without assistance of a teacher, students often find difficult to manage studies. Due to the facts they can gain more knowledge and improve their mistake immediately.

on the one hand, there are clear arguments that study english by themselves rather than attend formal classes. One main reason for this belief that it saves cost and time for attending formal classes. This means that attending formal classes means expenditure of alot of money and travel where students can study more rather than travel more than kms and hours. Another reason can be that study themselves means they have limited educational materials. Because of this students doesn't well known about their performance, strength and weakness where they aren't able to react immediately on their mistake. It is possible to say that it encourages their creativity and imagination because of this they become more independent and get all information about educational material by themselves. One good illustration of this is that when i was preparing for ilests test i watched several videos but i don't get it very well and i hadn't much resources to practice. But i noticed one thing about my interested to eagerly learning english.

On the other hand, i agree with the view points that without teacher it can be hard to study english. Firstly, i believe that teacher provide unlimited educational materials which can be very help to students to study and explain everything whenever they don't understand. From my perspective, teacher can easily identify strength and weakness about student's performance. This means that students may immediately get feedbacks and improve their performance. A particularly good example of this is that i found difficult to study myself ilets course but when i had taken classes i found it easy and i can easily improve my performance. Another reason that i get one website where i can take unlimited test and practice all task.

To sum up, it seems to me that assistance of teacher that has brought more benefits. Although it provides unlimited educational materials, track their performance wether study by themselves it improves their concentration, imagination and saves time and costs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the issue and state a position: you support the view that studying without a teacher is difficult, while acknowledging benefits such as saving time and money and developing independence. The personal examples about preparing for IELTS and later taking classes are relevant. However, the position is not consistently explained: the opening says students can gain knowledge and correct mistakes immediately, which conflicts with your later point that independent learners may not recognise their weaknesses. Several ideas, including the claim about limited materials, are unclear or insufficiently supported. Develop fewer points more fully and explain how each example supports your overall view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “on the one hand” and “on the other hand,” and a conclusion, so the reader can identify the broad structure. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from cost and travel to limited materials, creativity, and a personal example without clearly connecting these points. Linking phrases such as “This means” and “Because of this” are repeated, and some references are difficult to follow, particularly “Another reason that I get one website.” The conclusion also combines ideas in a confusing sentence. Group related points together and use clear topic sentences and more precise links between claims and examples.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “formal classes,” “educational materials,” “performance,” “strength and weakness,” and “feedback.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main topic, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning unclear. For example, “improve their mistake,” “unlimited educational materials,” and “my interested to eagerly learning” are not natural expressions in context. Spelling errors such as “ilests” and “wet her” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of common education-related collocations and check spelling and word forms; this will help you express your ideas more precisely without relying on repeated general terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning “because” and “when,” and use contrastive structures to organise your argument. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence formation, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation. Examples include “study english independently can be difficult,” “students doesn't well known,” and “teacher provide.” Some sentences are incomplete or difficult to interpret, such as “Another reason that I get one website.” Capitalisation and sentence boundaries also need attention, especially at the start of paragraphs and after full stops. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete sentence patterns before adding more complex clauses.
