Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many students prefer studying on their own to master Emglish language rather than joining any specific tutor. However, without the support by a guide, they become exhausted in continuing their routine studies. I completely agree this stance because learning any new work requires contunious push by a physical entity.
In order to acquire the knowledge of English language, the presence of teacher is must. It is the natural extinct of human that whenever people try to learn anything new, they usually procastinate and feel demotivated many a time. Therefore, the cooperation of a guide is a pre-recquisite for learning English language as teacher will provide the right direction, raise motivation when needed, and help to fight against procastination.
Having said that, when people choose a formal course and opt for a teacher, thety usually select the path of competition. Studying alone does not guarantee full success as there will be no one to compet with, on the other hand, if formal course is taken, srudents will have to compet with many other candidates. This healthy competition will not only help candidates to highlight their weaknesses and taking stringent measures to tackle them but also creates a better learning environment which overall will aid to studenrs learning and grasping the rules of English language effectively.
Furthermore, student trying to study at his own, will wander here and there and will not have a proper syllabus and outline of the language which he should follow to achieve skills in English language. In contrast, if he attends a formal course, he will be provided accurate outline and proper guidance, which will make the journey of commanding over English language easy for him.
In a nutshell, a lot of students consider self-study accurate for learning English language. However, the availability of teacher will be more suitable for them as it will save much time, improve mistakes, and create healthy learning environment. Thus, to unlock the full potential of English language, it is better to opt for a tutor.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I completely agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the question with relevant reasons: a teacher can sustain motivation, provide direction and a syllabus, and create opportunities for competition. The discussion of competition is a useful supporting point, and you explain how it may help students identify weaknesses. However, some claims are broad or not fully explained—for example, that people naturally procrastinate and that self-study does not guarantee success. The response therefore covers the task well overall, but the reasons need more specific development or a concrete example to make the argument more convincing and fully supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, three body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a concluding summary. Paragraphs generally focus on one main idea, and signposts such as “Having said that,” “Furthermore,” and “In a nutshell” help readers follow the argument. However, some linking is mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is occasionally unclear. For instance, “Having said that” suggests a contrast, although the paragraph continues to support your agreement. The competition paragraph also contains several points in one long sequence, making the progression harder to follow. Use transitions that accurately reflect the logic, and divide or connect supporting points more carefully; clearer referencing would also help avoid repeating “teacher” and “English language.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of vocabulary related to learning, including “motivation,” “healthy competition,” “proper guidance,” and “highlight their weaknesses.” These choices communicate the main ideas, but control of spelling, word form, and collocation is inconsistent and sometimes distracts the reader. Examples include “Emglish,” “contunious,” “procastinate,” and “pre-requisite”; phrases such as “support by a guide,” “natural extinct,” and “improve mistakes” are also unnatural or unclear. Repeated use of “English language,” “teacher,” and “learning” limits flexibility. Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “support from a teacher,” “natural tendency,” and “correct mistakes,” and proofread carefully so spelling errors do not obscure otherwise relevant ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including subordinate clauses beginning “whenever” and “if,” and the overall meaning is usually understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, agreement, and sentence construction. For example, “the presence of teacher is must” needs article and complement corrections, while “student trying to study at his own, will wander” has an unclear subject structure and unnecessary comma. In “will not only help candidates to highlight their weaknesses and taking stringent measures … but also creates,” the verb forms and agreement do not align. These issues do not generally prevent understanding, but they reduce accuracy. Practise checking each sentence’s subject and verb, article use, and parallel forms in paired constructions such as “not only … but also.”
