Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many students prefer to do self study for learning english, Instead of taking classes for it. From my perspective there are many difficulties for students to learn english by themselves. Professional and high qualified teachers are needed for student assistance dring studying english.
As english is a language and can be learn by self studies. Also a person can understade the basic conversation by watching english movies. But he can not master the actual grammer of english language. He will make mistakes in tenses during writing or reading. He may does not know words to use as alternate of each other. Following this a student can not able to manage the fluency of his english. For example if a person is quite good to understand the english conversation in videos he will may not able to speak with native english speakers.
As if a student who know the spelling of a word. Make mistake in a pronounsiation of that word. He need a teacher to correct him. If he do not have any assistance from a teacher he can assume himself correct in his own mind. Continue that mistake repeatedly can become his habit and then it will be hard for him to correct this. On the otherside if teacher is availble to guide you. He will directly correct the word to student.
We can conclude that gaining basic knowledge and able to understande english language is possible by himselves. But to be able to communicate and survive with native speakers. To make sure the level of english for daily life survival we must need to seek from teachers.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that independent learners face difficulties and argue that teachers are needed to correct and guide them. The response addresses both the possibility of learning basic English alone and the limits of doing so, with relevant examples about grammar, fluency, and pronunciation. These points support your view, particularly the example of a learner repeating a pronunciation error without feedback. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that learners cannot manage fluency could be linked more clearly to how teacher guidance improves speaking practice. The conclusion also introduces “daily life survival” without developing what this means. Explain each main reason more fully and connect examples directly to the question of managing study independently.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The paragraphs generally group related ideas, moving from limits in grammar and fluency to the value of correction from a teacher. However, progression within sentences and between ideas is sometimes difficult to follow. Openings such as “As english is a language and can be learn by self studies” and “As if a student who know the spelling of a word” do not establish clear relationships with the preceding points. Connectors such as “Following this” and “On the otherside” are also awkward or imprecise. Use clearer topic sentences and make each paragraph develop one central reason in a logical sequence; use linking expressions only where their relationship is clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “self study,” “basic conversation,” “tenses,” “fluency,” and “native English speakers.” This gives you enough language to communicate your main ideas, but the range is limited and several word choices or spellings are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “high qualified,” “understade,” “pronounsiation,” and “availble.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “use as alternate of each other” and “survive with native speakers.” Aim to learn common collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions for feedback, independent learning, and spoken communication would help you explain your ideas with greater clarity and avoid repeating general terms such as “English” and “teacher.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional ideas such as “if a person is quite good to understand…” and a contrast between what learners can and cannot do alone. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the reader work to understand the point. For example, “he may does not know” and “If he do not have” use incorrect verb forms, while “a person can understade” does not form a complete, accurate clause in context. Several sentence fragments also appear, including “Make mistake in a pronounsiation of that word.” Practise building complete sentences with accurate subject–verb agreement and modal verbs, then proofread each sentence for its main verb and punctuation.
