Student answer (Band 6.0)
Most of the students selects the option to study English subject by their own rather then going to institute or joining a course, However, they face some difficulties by self studying without a teacher. Students who do self study may help them to manage their time and practice more rather then going to academy and takes classes.I agree that students often struggle to manage their study without a teacher guidance.
First, studying without a teacher can make it difficult for a student to identifies and correct their mistakes. For example, students who study by their own may find it difficult to correct grammar, pronunciation of words, and also writing. Without a proper guidance they may be not able to correct all these mistakes because their would be no one to correct them and guide them properly as a result they can take too long to learn English.
Secondly, teachers help students organise their studies and stay motivated. In a formal course, teachers provide a timetable, explain difficult topics and give regular feedback. This allows students to understand their weaknesses and work on them effectively. In contrast, students who study independently may waste time on unsuitable learning materials or lose motivation because they do not have anyone to monitor their progress.
In conclusion, I agree that learning English independently can be challenging because students may struggle to correct their mistakes and manage their time effectively. Although self-study offers flexibility, a teacher's guidance can make the learning process easier and more productive.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you agree that independent learners can struggle, and you address relevant reasons, including difficulty correcting mistakes and managing study. The examples of grammar, pronunciation and writing make the first point concrete, while the discussion of timetables, feedback and motivation supports the second. This covers the task well, though the opening briefly introduces self-study’s benefits without developing them, and the first body paragraph could explain more specifically how a teacher would help learners overcome the listed problems. To strengthen the response further, develop each main idea with a fuller example or explanation and keep the discussion consistently focused on the extent of your agreement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and the conclusion restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “First,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and the contrast introduced by “In contrast” is relevant. Some connections are less smooth, however. The opening sentence about self-study helping students manage time and practise more is not clearly linked to the following claim that they struggle, and the first body paragraph repeats the idea of lacking guidance. Use referencing and transitions more precisely, and make sure each paragraph develops one connected line of reasoning rather than repeating a point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “independently,” “formal course,” “regular feedback,” “weaknesses,” and “monitor their progress.” These choices show some range beyond basic terms. However, several noticeable word-choice and collocation problems reduce naturalness, such as “study English subject,” “by their own,” “teacher guidance,” and “correct grammar.” The repeated use of “students,” “study,” and “difficult” also limits flexibility. Aim to learn common academic collocations and vary repeated wording; for example, use “study English independently,” “on their own,” and “identify and correct errors.” More precise phrasing would make your argument clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “students who study independently may waste time…” and a complex explanation beginning “because they do not have anyone to monitor their progress.” Meaning is generally understandable, but some errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction remain. For instance, “Most of the students selects” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “make it difficult for a student to identifies” uses the wrong verb form after “to.” The first paragraph also contains a run-on sentence joined by a comma before “However.” Review agreement and infinitive patterns, and divide long sentences or connect their clauses with accurate punctuation.
