Student answer (Band 5.0)
Students choose to study English independently on a self study basis with out the assistance of a teacher :
I am 30 percent agree by that dicission of the students because it is beneficial for the students. they search themselves and get the knowledge and that knowledge which they learnt themselves remember them . because they explore it by thier own self. by that task they will be ready for self writing and self learning in future.
and now why i am 70 percent disagree by that dicission ? the main reason is that sometimes we find our tast perfect but it is not perfect . for correction there is the need of a teacher . and sometimes we get short about aur topic but we want some else to know about that topic so here also we need some help. sometimes we get extra and irrelivent from the topic that's why we also need for assistance of a teacher that can tell us about the relevent things.
here is a example of from my knowledge experience that is about my mathematics subject in second year pre engineering . i can not get clear concept about my daily topic with out my teacher or assistance of a teacher . so i prefer mostly to go to my mathematics teacher to clear my concepts about my topic . when ever she is not present i can cot study and i am stucked at my topic . next day firstly i go to my teacher and clear my all confusions .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear overall preference for teacher support, while acknowledging that independent study can help students remember what they discover themselves. The examples about needing correction and clarification are relevant, and the mathematics experience adds personal support. However, the position is expressed as “30 percent agree” and “70 percent disagree,” rather than being stated directly and consistently, and several points are repeated or only briefly explained. The mathematics example also concerns a different subject, so explain more clearly how it illustrates the difficulty of learning English alone. The response is 248 words, so it falls two words short of the required 250; the 11 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop the reasons and example further to address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: the response first gives a reason in favour of independent study, then turns to reasons for teacher assistance, and ends with a personal example. This makes the general direction understandable. However, the progression is not consistently clear, and the opening colon and question-style transition (“and now why i am 70 percent disagree”) make the structure feel like notes rather than a developed essay. Linking words such as “because,” “sometimes,” and “that's why” are repeated, while references such as “that topic” and “that task” are not always precise. Use clear paragraphs with a direct introduction, one main idea per body paragraph, and a conclusion. Vary linking expressions and make each connection between a claim and its explanation explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “assistance,” “correction,” “concept,” and “confusions,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “get short about our topic,” “find our tast perfect,” and “clear my all confusions.” Spelling errors—including “dicission,” “thier,” “irrelivent,” and “relevent”—are frequent enough to distract from the message. Some phrases are also repeated, particularly “teacher” and “topic.” Build a more precise vocabulary for discussing independent learning, feedback, and progress, and check spelling and collocations carefully before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas with subordinate clauses, for example, “because they explore it by their own self,” and you use both present and past forms in the personal example. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and attempts at longer sentences often contain several errors. Examples include “I am 30 percent agree,” “the knowledge which they learnt themselves remember them,” and “I can not get clear concept.” There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries; the final example is joined into a long sequence without clear punctuation. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses such as “although” and “because.” Check subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation in each sentence.
