Student answer (Band 6.0)
A numerous number of students choose to learn English by themselves rather than attending the classes, but they find it difficult to manage their studies in the absense of a tutor. Although, teacher can play a great role in the guidance, I completely disagree with this statement.
The main reason why I disagree is that, the development in technology can help the students to manage their study. Students can easily get access to the useful websites, such as chatgpt, youtube, and others, from which they can practice English and also can get the improvement in the section they find difficult. For instance, when someone search about the reading section in the youtube, they can easily get access to a lot of videos and from that they can easily practice and manage their study.
Another reason is that, people can get help from their friends. Most of the people now get connected through the social media also. People from the different parts of the world can become a friend easily. Friend who is good at English can taught the one who is struggling. People can clear their doubt by the help of their friends through video calling or by meet up. For example, if the person from Nepal is connected with the British person, Nepali student can easily get guidance in English from the British person.
In conclusion, although some people feel difficult in studying English without the guidance of a teacher, I believe, students can easily manage their study through the access of different websites and from their friends.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you completely disagree that learners struggle to manage without a teacher, and both body paragraphs give relevant reasons. The technology paragraph explains how websites and videos can support practice, while the friendship paragraph offers peer guidance and a Nepal–Britain example. This addresses the question, but the ideas are not developed equally fully. The technology example mainly repeats that videos provide practice, and the claim that a British friend can guide a Nepali learner is general rather than showing how this support helps organise study. Explain specific strategies, such as setting goals or receiving corrections, and acknowledge briefly when a teacher might still be useful to make the argument more fully supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two reason-based body paragraphs and a conclusion. The progression from online resources to help from friends is easy to follow, and phrases such as “Another reason” and “In conclusion” signal the stages of the argument. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, with repeated “easily” and frequent use of “and” to connect points. Some references are also unclear: “from that” refers vaguely to the videos, and “Friend who is good at English” appears without a clear link to the preceding sentence. Use more precise referencing and vary the links between claims and examples. Within each paragraph, make the explanation of how the example supports your position more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your ideas, including “manage their studies,” “guidance,” “social media,” and “video calling.” The meaning is generally clear, but several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision. For example, “A numerous number” is not a natural expression, “get the improvement” is awkward, and “clear their doubt” does not fit the intended meaning naturally. “Study” and “easily” are also repeated often. Aim to learn common word partnerships and use more precise alternatives for learning support and progress. Check spelling and spacing as well, including “absence” and the missing space in “chatgpt, youtube.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concessive opening with “Although” and conditional phrasing such as “if the person from Nepal is connected…”. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include “when someone search” instead of “when someone searches,” “Friend…can taught” instead of “A friend…can teach,” and “people can clear their doubt” instead of “people can clear their doubts.” There are also issues with articles, punctuation and clause structure, as in “Although, teacher can play…” and “I believe, students…”. Practise subject–verb agreement, modal verb patterns and sentence punctuation, then proofread each sentence for these points.
