Student answer (Band 5.5)
A massive number of students elect to study english by themselves individually on a self-study basis instead of attend a proper english language course. Nevertheless, without the facilitation of a instructor, learners usually find it challenging to handle their studies. I entirely agree with it.
First of all, I will elaborate several reasons of it. Some students prefer to study freely on a self-study basis rather than attend a proper course. According to my perspective, most of them may face failure. There are several reasons of it. Student can never make their strong base in english without the help of a teacher. Actually, teacher plays a vital role to build our character and to make our strong base in english. To be honest, english is very tough language to learn. Consequently, students should not choose to study english independently on a self-study basis without the assistance of a teacher, especially in the begining.
Moreover, students may be do it due to insuficient money to purchase any course or to manage any tutor. It may also be happen due to their overconfidence that they are very expert in english. Furthermore, at the end, they face failure and find it challenging to manage their studies. This is bound to happen because we know it is almost possible to become pro in english without the assistance of a teacher or by studying independently on a self-study base. It ios because teacher help us to improve our vocabulary, pronunciation and other difficulties which we face during the learning in english.
In conclusion, I totally agree with it and students should prefer to study english by any experienced tutor who could make them professional too in english.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear in the opening and conclusion: “I entirely agree” and “I totally agree.” You also give relevant reasons, including that learners may lack money for a course and that a teacher can help with vocabulary and pronunciation. However, the response only partly develops the task. Much of the first body paragraph repeats that independent learners may fail or struggle, without explaining in detail how a teacher helps them manage their studies. The claim that it is “almost possible” to become proficient without a teacher is also unclear and seems to conflict with your argument. Develop each reason with a specific explanation or example, and address the difficulty of managing study more directly. The response meets the required length; 19 words copied from the task prompt were excluded from the count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “First of all,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” help identify the stages. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited: the first body paragraph repeats the idea that students may fail, while the second moves between cost, overconfidence and teacher support without clearly connecting these points. Some linking phrases are also awkward or repetitive, including “There are several reasons of it” and “Furthermore, at the end.” To improve, give each paragraph one main point, explain it in a logical sequence, and use references such as “this difficulty” or “such learners” to connect ideas without repeatedly restating the same claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “independently,” “overconfidence,” “pronunciation” and “assistance.” However, the range is limited by repeated phrases such as “self-study basis,” “proper course” and “without the assistance of a teacher.” Several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, for example “make their strong base,” “become pro” and “manage any tutor”; these can make your meaning less precise. Spelling and capitalisation are also inconsistent, as in “begining,” “insuficient” and repeated lowercase “english.” Build a wider set of accurate expressions for learning and study management, and check spelling and standard capitalisation when proofreading.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, using structures such as “without the help of a teacher” and “because we know…,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur in basic sentence patterns and agreement: “instead of attend” should use a gerund, “a instructor” has an incorrect article, and “teacher plays” needs an article or plural subject. Other examples include “students may be do it” and “It may also be happen,” where the verb forms are faulty. These errors recur and sometimes make the reader pause, although the overall argument remains understandable. Practise accurate verb patterns after prepositions and modal verbs, article use, and subject–verb agreement; then proofread each sentence for a complete, correctly formed clause.
