Student answer (Band 4.5)
It is often argued by some students choose to study English without any guidance. Although some might disagree with this notion, but I completely agree. Not only because of confidence and freedom but also because it is the big source of learn new skill.
There are multiple causes associated with the choose to study English independently. Firstly, confidence is the leading benefit of this statement. As through confidence we can communicate easily from people. Take an example of Amma watson, who is the leading star, she is more confident and talk very confidently in front of huge. Thus, choose to study for our likes is more beneficial for everyone.
Secondly, freedom is very important for our society. As we will freedom, we can face every problem and think our bad and likes. For instance, in Russia, most of the women are doing jobs for their secure future due to freedom. Hecnce, English study rather than formal course is the leading benefit of this statement.
Finaly, learn new skills is very important for our future. As in the world, many people learn new skills because they want to do jobs and do for their business.
To sum up, a huge number of students choose to study English idependently on a self-study basis rather than attend a formal course without any teacher. Not only because of confidence and freedom but also because of learn new skills for their better future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
Your position is clear: you say, “I completely agree,” and the response stays focused on independent English study. However, the reasons given—confidence, freedom and learning new skills—are not clearly connected to the question of whether students struggle to manage their studies without a teacher. The examples about Emma Watson and women working in Russia do not explain how self-study is managed, so the main argument remains minimally developed. The response also contains 219 words, which is 31 words below the required minimum; 20 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. To strengthen your answer, explain specific difficulties such as planning lessons or correcting mistakes, then show why you agree or disagree and support that view with relevant examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “To sum up” help signal the stages of your answer. However, the overall progression is limited because the body paragraphs do not build a clear argument about managing self-study. Several links are mechanical or unclear: “As through confidence we can communicate easily from people” does not clearly connect to the example that follows, and “Thus” introduces a conclusion that is difficult to infer. The conclusion mostly repeats the introduction rather than drawing together developed reasons. Make each paragraph follow a clear pattern—main point, explanation, relevant example—and use linking phrases only where the relationship between ideas is clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “guidance,” “independently,” “formal course,” and “self-study,” and the reader can generally identify your intended subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes meaning unclear. For example, “the big source of learn new skill” and “we will freedom” do not express your ideas naturally, while “talk very confidently in front of huge” is incomplete and unclear. Spelling errors such as “Hecnce,” “Finaly,” and “idependently” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of phrases for the topic, such as “study independently,” “manage a study schedule,” and “receive feedback,” and check spelling and word forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some complex sentence forms, including “Although some might disagree with this notion, but I completely agree” and sentences beginning with “As.” You also use simple statements that are usually understandable. However, the complex attempts are often faulty, and sentence patterns are limited. For example, “It is often argued by some students choose” lacks a grammatical link between the clauses, and “Although … but” incorrectly combines two contrasting structures. Other problems include “we can communicate easily from people” and “many people learn new skills because they want to do jobs and do for their business,” where the grammatical relationships are unclear. Practise complete clause structures and accurate verb patterns, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
