Student answer (Band 5.5)
As nowadays students find it more easier to self-study rather than attending a formal course.Sometime it can be beneficial for students and some time their should be some assistance needed.
Doing self-study looks more easy because students study and learn things by their own pace whithout any supervision of a teacher. As in todays world one can learn anything from internet, watching videos and taking online recorded courses with certificates.Actually students nowadays want to learn when their minds are relax and they fell the urge because one can learn and pick any thing in that phase with calm and peacefull enviroment and having the energy and practice with their own pace which i think is a good idea .Some students want to learn by their own while some wants to participate in a class with group of other people .
While on the other side Teacher assistance is realised when student find difficult to manage their study .Teachers are proffessional in their fields they not only teach but also manage to give answer to student questions and also solve their problems accordingly.By attending a course physically is a bit difficult than self-study but it has more advantages .Student can ask any question from their teacher if they are facing some difficulty in a specific topic in return teacher can teach a student in different way which the student finds easy so student can always avail assistance of there teacher.
In my point of view learning with the assistance of teacher is better than self-study because learning new language or new skill by your own is more time consuming than having the assistance of teacher who is proffessional in his fields.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the question and give a clear overall view: you acknowledge that self-study can be convenient, but conclude that teacher assistance is better. Relevant reasons include learning at one’s own pace and being able to ask a teacher questions or receive an explanation in a different way. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the benefits of independent study receive several broad claims, while the conclusion that teacher support saves time is asserted rather than illustrated. The response would be stronger if you directly explained how lack of a teacher makes it difficult to plan, stay motivated, or identify mistakes, then supported this with a specific example. This would make your position and reasoning more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has an overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph about self-study, a paragraph about teacher support, and a concluding opinion. This makes the main line of argument understandable. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose, and several ideas are joined in long sentences, particularly the discussion of learning in a calm environment and at one’s own pace. The contrast marker “While on the other side” is awkward, and the shift from describing course attendance as difficult to listing its advantages could be signposted more clearly. Use clearer topic sentences and divide related points into shorter units. More precise referencing and transitions would help the reader follow how each reason supports your final preference.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including terms such as “self-study,” “supervision,” “assistance,” and “specific topic.” There are also attempts to express distinctions between independent learning and formal teaching. However, the range is limited and some wording is repetitive or imprecise, such as repeated use of “student,” “learn,” and “teacher.” Several spelling and word-choice errors—such as “proffessional,” “peacefull,” and “avail assistance”—make the writing less natural and can slow the reader. Aim to use accurate collocations and vary key terms where appropriate. For example, “receive support from an instructor” is more natural than “avail assistance of there teacher.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses with “because” and “which,” and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, some sentence structures are incomplete or difficult to control. The opening, “As nowadays students find it more easier…,” is not a complete sentence, and the first paragraph contains several run-on sentences joined without clear punctuation. There are also errors in agreement and sentence construction, as in “some wants to participate” and “one can learn… because one can learn and pick…”. Use a wider range of sentence patterns, but keep each sentence focused and check that it has a clear subject and main verb. Careful editing of punctuation and agreement would improve accuracy.
