Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays people interested to learning new languages specially english language is one of the most popular language during this period. However, some people find it really difficult to learn so they try to study on a self basis. I strongly disagree with this approach because sometimes self-study can be more difficult and has the possibilily to make mistakes. This eassy will examine both views and why i disagree with the first view .
One major reason is that without any help people often get find it difficult. Moreover, there are several things to pursue english as a subject or a language. Sometimes indivuduals suffer from pronouncing mistakes and grammatical errors. Additionally when a person get a assistant of a teacher it would be more easier for them insead of facing problems.
Another main reason is that why i disagree with this view is formal courses can solve people's hasitation, also can boost their confident for public speaking. When an individuals practice alone, he or she does not find out the mistakes and cannot even ready to public or conversational speaking, so it is far better to practice or attend a formal course to enhace their own cirrcumstances.
In conclution, maybe sometimes self-study can help but i would definitily support the second idea for students rather than the first one. While some prefer to make it alone however, second idea can be eassier for busy or weaker students to get it right.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You state a clear overall view—“I strongly disagree”—and give relevant reasons, including that a teacher can help with pronunciation and grammar and that courses can build confidence for speaking. However, the response only partially develops the task: the opening says it will “examine both views,” but the essay mainly argues for formal teaching and does not explain why students choose independent study or weigh its benefits. The reasons are also asserted rather than supported with a specific example or fuller explanation. The conclusion repeats your preference but adds little. The response is 241 words, so it does not meet the required minimum of 250; use the extra space to develop one reason with a relevant example and clarify your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Paragraphs generally focus on relevant points, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “Additionally” and “In conclusion” help show the intended sequence. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. For example, “Another main reason is that why i disagree with this view” repeats the position without clearly introducing a distinct point, while the final sentence shifts between students who study alone and those who attend courses. Some linking phrases are used mechanically, and references such as “the first view” and “second idea” are not always clear. Make each paragraph’s main point explicit, then connect each explanation and example directly to it.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “self-study,” “grammatical errors,” “formal courses” and “public speaking,” so the reader can identify your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems make the writing less precise. Examples include “study on a self basis,” “get a assistant,” “boost their confident,” and “ready to public or conversational speaking.” Spelling errors such as “possibilily,” “indivuduals” and “conclution” are also noticeable. Aim to learn common phrases as complete units—for example, “study independently” and “gain confidence in public speaking”—and proofread carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you explain how teacher feedback supports language learning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a contrast introduced by “While.” However, complex attempts are often faulty, and frequent errors can make some sentences difficult to interpret. For instance, “without any help people often get find it difficult” contains an incorrect verb construction, while “When an individuals practice alone” has an agreement error. Articles and sentence structure are also problematic in “get a assistant of a teacher” and “Another main reason is that why i disagree.” Capitalisation and punctuation need attention, particularly the lowercase “i” and missing commas after introductory phrases. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause before adding more complexity.
