Student answer (Band 5.5)

Learning becomes extremely easy and productive under someone guidance. A large number of students prefer to learn English by themselves through self -study instead of attending class. However, without the supervision of a teacher, learners frequently face obstacles to manage their studies. I completely agree with this statement because learning English is a challenging job which would be a trama for beginners without the assistance of others.

To begin with, students across the world have access to internet so that they try to learn English on their own. Although it is quite realible for those who have a basic knowledge about English, it is completely helpless for beginneers. Beginners are unaware about vocabulary, grammar and sentence structure and without these things learning English would be impossible. Grammar is a complex part and it can be learned only with the assist of a teacher. If a student try to study it on own, too much confusion will arrive and it will be hard to cope up and finally get exhausted. For instance, I started studying English from grade 1 and till this date I still feel difficulties in grammar and sentence structure. From my own experience, I can tell how much hard is English to learn. That is why, studying it without guidance would be impossible.

Teacher have the full roadmap about teaching it. He knows which part should be taught first and others in their own sequence. By this way, beginners will feel easy and be productive with the time. On the other hand, if he will learn by ownself, he will mix several parts here and there and as result he will either stop or learn wrong things. English is a language and it can learned by applying it in own life so, self-studying it is unrealistic.

In conlusion, learning English is a complex process and it has so many parts to study in sequence. A teacher has the ideas about it so, learning it under his guidance makes the job comfortable and realistic to acheive.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you completely agree that learners need a teacher’s assistance, and the conclusion reinforces this view. You give relevant reasons, including beginners’ difficulty with grammar and the value of a teacher’s learning sequence, and your personal example adds support. This meets the task well, with some elements showing stronger development. However, the discussion is not fully balanced or precise: the claim that grammar “can be learned only with the assist of a teacher” is asserted rather than demonstrated, and the point that English can be learned by applying it in daily life is introduced but not explained. To strengthen the response further, develop these ideas with specific examples and acknowledge when independent study may work well.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas generally progress from the challenges beginners face to the teacher’s role, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “By this way” and “so” do not always show the precise relationship between ideas, while “On the other hand” introduces a point that largely repeats the argument against self-study rather than presenting a distinct contrast. Pronouns such as “he” also make references less clear when discussing students generally. Use more precise links and make each paragraph’s central point and supporting explanation distinct.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main argument, including “supervision,” “vocabulary,” “grammar,” “sentence structure” and “guidance.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “full roadmap,” although this is not a natural collocation in this context. The range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or spelling errors are noticeable, including “trama,” “realible,” “beginneers,” “conlusion” and “acheive.” Phrases such as “too much confusion will arrive” and “feel difficulties” also sound unnatural and may slow the reader. Build a bank of accurate collocations for education and learning, and check spelling and word forms carefully. This will make your meaning more precise and fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “Although” and “if,” and most of the argument remains understandable. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. Examples include “Teacher have” instead of “Teachers have,” “if a student try,” “it can learned,” and “if he will learn.” The opening phrase “under someone guidance” also needs a possessive form. Some long sentences combine several ideas without clear grammatical boundaries, as in the sentence beginning “If a student try to study it on own.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and conditional forms, and divide complex ideas into shorter sentences. Greater accuracy across these structures would improve readability.
