Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, students want to study English independently rather then attending a formal class. Some people believe that learning without a teacher can be difficult.I largely agree with this view, because teacher helps their students correct their mistakes and manage their study effectively.
To begin with, Study English without teacher can be challenging. Students may not be able to find their mistakes and correct themself. For example, learners may use wrong grammer or pronounce words incorrect without knowing it. As a result, they may continue making the same mistake and can not improve their English skill. In contrast, teacher can easily identify those mistake and correct them instantly.
Furthermore, teacher helps students and keep them motivated if students can not focus on their learning. Some independent students can find it difficult to manage their studies. They can some time get stuck in their schedule. For instance, students who want to self study may find it difficult to focus on different mistakes. Teacher can help them by providing a study plan and organized their study routine and giving a feedback. This makes students more organized and effective.
In conclusion, Students often struggle when they study alone. Because they can not find their weakness where they makes mistakes and can waste their important time watching different videos and making wrong strategies. On the other hand, teacher can help them through finding their mistakes and give them a good strategies which can save their vital time and improve their English skill without wasting a lot of time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: “I largely agree,” and the response stays focused on the difficulties of studying without a teacher. You give relevant reasons, including learners’ inability to identify errors and the challenge of maintaining a study routine, and you support these with examples such as incorrect pronunciation and a teacher providing a study plan. This addresses the task well. However, the second reason is less fully explained: the point about getting “stuck in their schedule” is unclear, and the example about focusing on “different mistakes” does not clearly show how a teacher helps with motivation. Develop this link and explain the examples more precisely to make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “To begin with” and “Furthermore,” and a conclusion. The main ideas generally progress from correcting errors to managing study, so the reader can follow the argument. Some linking is effective, particularly “As a result” and “In contrast.” However, cohesion is occasionally mechanical, and some references or connections are unclear. For example, “They can some time get stuck in their schedule” does not clearly connect to the following example, while the conclusion repeats several points without bringing them together in a concise way. Use clearer links between each claim and its explanation, and vary transitions while keeping the paragraph progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “independently,” “motivated,” “study plan,” and “organized.” There are also attempts to express specific concepts, such as identifying mistakes and managing a routine. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors reduce precision: “wrong grammer,” “pronounce words incorrect,” “find their weakness,” and “give them a good strategies.” Repetition of “mistakes,” “study,” and “teacher” also makes the writing less flexible. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for language learning and self-management, and check spelling and word forms. More precise vocabulary would make your explanations clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including cause-and-effect structures such as “As a result, they may continue…” and a conditional clause beginning “if students can not focus.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction occur across the response. Examples include “teacher helps,” “Students may not be able to… correct themself,” and “teacher can help them… and organized their study routine.” The final paragraph also begins “Because” as a separate sentence, leaving the relationship with the previous sentence awkward. Practise checking subject–verb agreement, singular and plural forms, and parallel verb structures. Greater accuracy in these areas would strengthen the range you are already attempting.
